London Manifesto - Squiddy

Day 303, 12:32 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Squiddy

To all citizens of London, (If you often use the term "tl;dr" or don't manage to finish long articles, check the bottom of the page)

It is with great honour that I announce myself for the last ever Local Elections of London, one of the greatest cities in the world.

Firstly I would like to apologise on behalf of TUP for the stain on London's history that is AngelFeather. It was not our intention to have him become Mayor then disappear. Once we realised this was the case, myself and Hassan Pesaran immediately moved to London to join the London Council to try and improve this nasty situation.

Anyway, now that's out of the way we can get onto the actual manifesto part!

What makes me qualified to be Mayor of London?

I've played a very active part in Congress, which any other congress member will happily verify, which shows that I have the dedication and insight required to make a positive impact.

I am very active in eRepublik and already extremely involved in a lot of the ways in which the UK is run.

Congress: I am a member of Congress and have been since the last General Election. This is my first term as a member of Congress, and I've already managed to come up with a rather popular proposal. Although it, (SO Management), wasn't accepted due to V1 being released soon, I plan on implementing this in London should I be elected. I think this shows that I have the capability to find faults and suggest improvements in an environment which has in fact already been put together extremely well.

Vice President of The Unity Party: I am TUP's VP. I have been since the last General Election. I have come up with many ideas in which to better the way TUP is run, which is why I got this position. Whilst not everyone will be able to see or experience this quality of mine, I know that I can put my energy into improving London in some way too.

Apprentice to Minister of Foreign Affairs: This is also my first term as AtMoFA. Since I started this role I have been reading up on foreign political affairs, which I don't particularly want to get into here, in case I say something I'm not meant to! Needless to say though, It's boosted my contacts list and shown me that not everything is black and white, there is always a shady area, even if you can't see it. Knowing this, I now try to look at a situation with as many views as I can to get the best results possible.

London Councillor: This is, again, also my first term as a London Councillor. Whilst I am new to all of these positions, I pick things up pretty quickly and put a lot of effort into things which not everyone would always agree with doing in certain situations. The London Council is, I think, the main reason for me being the best person for the job, (Unless Stan was running, but he isn't! Smile, this shows that I've already got what it takes to manage London, because I've already been doing it.

I do have plans for London, firstly, I'm going to re-organise the Regional Council. I'm the kind of person that likes things to be labelled, so that I know what does what. Saying this, I'd also like the London Council to be a little more organised and also to start growing the community of London as much as possible, because for a region of over 450 people, there doesn't seem to be too much citizen activity going on.

Just to make things clear I'm not blaming anything on Stan or saying he's done a bad job, so please don't think that, besides, it would be a terrible manifesto if I simply said, "Well, I would do something but Stan's already done everything..." Razz And as I've recently said, no matter how good something is, there's always something to improved on.

As well as the above I will, of course, fulfil all the basic/obvious functions of being a mayor, such as gifting. I'd also like to take an active part in increasing the activity of London's citizens. At some point in the near future, I would also like to start up an investigation into how many people in London are active, how many are multi's, and how many are SO's. I haven't written much about the basic/obvious things, because it makes for a boring article, knowing, that section occupies at least, if not more, 33% of every other manifesto written to date.

I'd also just like to add that the reason I have left my manifesto so late, is because I've desperately been trying to think of some amazing new policy, but alas for now my goal has escaped my grasp. I apologise but you can guarantee that I will keep trying! I will find my Higgins Particle! (For those of you that don't understand, it's the particle that would fix almost every currently flawed theory about the "big bang").

So, to all of those that want a truly dedicated, understanding and capable Mayor of London, please, vote for me on the 20th of September.

Regards,

Squiddy - Hopeful Soon To Be Mayor of London.

Short Version

I'm relatively experienced in eRepublik, I'm in Congress, Vice President of the TUP political party, An apprentice to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with multiple regions under my responsibility. I'm also in the London Council, which means I'm already running a part of London. This means that basically, I can already do the job of Mayor and have been for a while! So please vote for me on the 20th of September!

Cheers,

Squiddy.
