Loans - viable?
schofeild
Well hello there,
I, along with all of you, long for some kind of economy that challenges us and is competitive, viable, and engrossing. In an attempt to think of ways to make money/ invest efficiently I would like you to help me out and give me your thoughts. Feel free to shut me down if this isn't viable, but let me know if you are interested, or have suggestions.
Ok so my idea was simple, Players with a bunch of spare gold would invest their gold into a younger player's Trading Grounds.
The upgrades for trading Grounds take longer and longer to pay for itself as they get to the higher levels. So why not loan gold to a player so that they can reach lv 2 or 3. This will significantly increase the gold generation in Aus. The loaners would pay interest of 5 g for lv 2, 10 g for level 3 and 20 for both at once.
Level 2 is the more efficient investment, but will probably have less demand (unless we get an influx of new players directed here)
If a player does not have any upgrades it will take them 50 days to make 5 g. During a sale of 44% off buying the first upgrade will cost 11.2 g and will double their strength gain - 25 days to get 5 g. Therefore this would take 56 days to pay off lv 2 upgrade. (Plus 25 days for interest) = 81 days
Upgrading to lv 3 it costs 28 g and will result in 5 gold every 16.6 days. This would take 93 days to pay off (plus 33.2 days for interest) = 126 days
Upgrading both would cost 39.2 gold and would take 130 days to pay off (plus 66 days for interest) = 196 days
The advantage of doing both at once is that you get an extra 2.5 gold (approx) due to time after loan, and because your strength will be increasing much faster. This means getting battle hero and True Patriot achievements much easier. By the end of the loan your strength will be 3000 more than when you started, meaning you can be of more influence to wars and hit hard. This is 310 strength more than if you took each loan individually. Plus, from now on, every 50 days you get 15 gold (without taking into consideration other sources of gold)
Investors
The return on investment (profit):
Lv 2 = 0.446%
Lv 3 = 0.357%
Both Lv 2 and 3 = 0.51%
Let me know if you would be interested in this as a person taking a loan, or as a lender.
Also I want feedback. Raw hard feedback

not bat , but that has to be done ,by the goverm.,with no profit .-
A government with zero constant regions can't fund MPPs or in the most basic form hold a budget in surplus. Yet they're going to pull gold out of thin air? That's thin man.
why do you think we don't have regions ?.. is it because everyone has to fend for themselves ?.. we have maybe two or three MU's that can keep the food supplies going. So far the best MU I have been in is easily The Black Hawks. RedBack is a great MU commander, not once did he let me down... thanks RedBack (patriot)
Unfortunately the Govt just can't afford this kind of program
Binda baby \^/
Hey Henry. 🙂
It's risky place to invest for anyone. What happens if the player drops out after 2 weeks?
Although I guess it would also help Australia, as at least one person has a monetary reason to keep that player in the game.
I think the terminology is just wrong in the article. Replace "invest" to "give-away"
But even then you would be facing small growth, and the bigger risk is you would get scammers from 3rd world countries like Indo. Your plan is very productive and thoughtful, but this game was developed in very poor quality, my point being is your idea is good, but this game just has a funny way of killing/stabbing any if all ideas to shit.
well if you are worried about Indos trying to get citizenship, its EASY to stop them, just have a quiz as a test, you know stuff like, "What's The Don's test batting average ?".. and "Which position and teams did Reg Gasnier play for ?"... and maybe, ""Who the hell was Ron Barassi ?"... if they cant get 100 percent in quiz, its bye bye Indo...... very few of them would have a hope of getting in.
I can only get the first, sadly 🙁
It would be sooo easy to find out ... imagine someone answering, """Ooooh I never knew Don Corleone played baseball"... or even... "who is this Don guy ?"".... bingo, the guy just can't possibly be an Australian and not know exactly who is this Don... an answer all Aussie kids probably know by the age of 12.
Lol nice read, but what i ment was them making new accounts and then just transfering the "monetary easing" policy from eAUS to there eIndo accounts.
well you and I know that Indos think the word Honour stands for nothing
Ok so the main issue is the risk. It will have to be a very relational thing.
@Alalphaone It does not have to be done by the Govt. In fact this has the private sector in mind. There is high reward for investors - this is the whole driver for the project. It benifits both parties, but incentivises people to give away their capital for a few months.
12 gold can be found by dissolving raw material companies, and so some compensation could be found by contacting leavers to dissolve all companies and donate it to the lender. would still work on the basis of honesty.
Hmm, any ideas or how to limit risk/ ensure the money is payed back?
Your main problem is still the need to trust someone on the other side of the internet. You can't get your boys to "pay them a visit" here. 😛 Works well in theory, but so does communism.
so very true
I suspect your interest rates are far too low for the risk this will present to the investor, to be able to calculate an appropriate interest rate you'd need to know the probability that the person will stop playing the game as well as the probability that they'll continue playing but not bother to pay it back.
You could probably reduce the risk by only lending to long-time players who don't yet have full TCs (informal loaning of gold already takes place though, though often interest free, more in the form of friends helping each other out).
I'd be surprised if anyone could make a profit off loaning to newbies.
PS: Did you account for the 9/5th per day work and train in a row extra strength?
As it stands with the slow rate of gaining gold, I reckon I wont have a level 4 training barracks until approximately the year 2016... around 11.37 PM on the 13th of November.... that is what I call FOREVER
As you get higher level TCs your rate of gold earning does go up.
I am at lvl 2 and it will be at least a couple of months minimum before I will get to a level 3
Ive been playing nearly a month and i can afford a discounted lv 3 TC, what are you doing with your gold?
On first day I used up most of my gold not knowing that the stuff is extremely hard to get hold of, maybe once a week I crack an award of 2 or 5 gold... very slow rate
i did not account for the training in a row, no.
Yeah its less risk doing it with longer term players, but they already have higher TCs and so less return. It would require an already established connection with players outside of the game, or really keen players.
But what other investment offers rewards as high as this for late game players?
Those with lots of gold may not care about investment but be more interested in propping up the lower divisions (remember that economy is stuffed, so it isn't really interesting).
Always remember 62nd rule of acquisition.
Check my comment down below ...
If there was a way to guarantee that the loan was paid back, this would be brilliant and I'd be happy to be a part of it. Unfortunately there isn't and the risk is far too great imo.
saddens me to say but i actually have to agree with you binda
In the 3ish years I've played eRep, I've probably lost close to 1000g leading to people who have quit playing.
Even more frustrating than that is that they quit with significant assets still in their acc's which I had largely paid for lol.
This is all my own fault ofc, I'm not moaning about it. But I'll leave it here as a bit of a warning for those that give it a go.
alrighty then. thats a fair bit. hmm looks like this is a no go for now.
More like Carl had too many Bundy's and forgot where he put his Gold .....
/me searches Carl's couch
No it's not your fault at all, what you did was good and proactive, sorry about your losses but they were done in the right spirit of the game... amazing for a low Kiwi (P).... maybe just lend to pl kiwis mate..... when some actually sign up to play the game that is.
I'll tell you a better idea which I had trialed about 2 or 3 years ago and was successful in around a dozen citizens, only reason it stopped is i upgraded my Q1 company so couldn't trade it anymore 😛😛
Many noobs and older players as well haven't bought the relative Q1 companies that give a higher energy bar once purchased, so what we used to do was loan the citizen 8 gold, they would then buy from you the Q1 company off the market for 10 gold, after a week they'd re-sell it to you for 9 gold, making you a 1 gold profit and them having the use of a company for a week plus the added 100 health they get in their energy meter.
This system was very successful and helped strengthen our players which is our ultimate goal after all, I used to do it as a clean swap so cost them nothing but as i showed above a little tweak will actually generate gold without costing the consumer too much, a 1 Gold loss for 100 extra health is an awesome deal in anyone's eyes.
This system is also mostly safe as once they have the company it's more beneficial to re sell it to you for 9 gold rather than dissolve it for 5, so the incentive is there to follow through on the deal.
but is it really worth the extra 100 energy? (and these are the advanced buildings right?)
when you start the game you have 300 health as a health limit, 100 extra means 400 health at the disposal = more damage and easier to complete daily orders 😉
I got to about 490 energy within the first day from just fighting with a few energy bars. its really not that impressive, considering you only get at most 4 kills extra, and you slow down your upgrade to your TCs
anyway, just my thoughts
It has changed. Before you needed factories before you could get larger health bank. Now you get 10 extra heath until level 21.

Awesome idea, I would be three times stronger if a system like that would be in place, sounds like a wasted opportunity. Imagine if all new players were given a boost in training and more help. As it is atm, I have been asking foreigners for assistance with food, so thank you to, English, Irish and Russians who have donated me food, or I would simply be unable to fight. I love the idea, its an idea like that which would quickly DOUBLE our strength.
Get hooked up with War Crew if you can. I find it hard to believe that you need to be asking for that much help out of the country. Also look at the centrelink new player rewards scheme for a nice buffer.
The game is missing a "banking" function that facilitates lending and borrowing
among many other things... this admin lot are like the Labor Government.... closed for business, refusing to do anything positive.
Good ideas. Player retention is the problem. I think most of us would loan or give if we knew the player would still be here in 6 months.
I think teaching new players is better than giving. New players need to plays slow and build up, but it involves 2 clicking which is very boring.
Waiting for sales is the best way for new players to get ahead.
