THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF CONFRONTATION
(a) "Killer-Killer":
Host: Wh= Ph ( Whmax - Rh )
Parasite: Wp= Pp ( Wpmax - Vp ).
Ph and Pp represent the chances of coming out on top for the host and the parasite respectively ( Ph+ Pp = 1; 0 Rh = cost of resistance, corresponding to the selective cost of developing resistance genes.
Vp = cost of virulence, corresponding to a reduction of exploitation of the host as a result of his early death and/or the genetic cost of developing mechanisms to escape host resistance.
(b) "Killer-Diplomat":
(bl) Killer host-Diplomat parasite:
Host: Wh= Whmax - Rh.
Parasite: Wp = 0.
The parasite is eliminated.
(b2) Killer parasite-Diplomat host:
Host: Wh = 0.
Parasite: Wp = Wpmax - Vp.
The host is eliminated.
(c) "Diplomat-Diplomat":
Host: Wh= Whmax - Gh.
Parasite: Wp = Wpmax - Gp.
G = "gift" to partner, corresponding to the energy given to by the host to the parasite (Gh) or to available energy not exploited by the parasite and left to the host (Gp). The parasite minimizes pressure exerted on the host (small Gh) and the host tolerates a non-virulent parasite (small Gp).

(a) What strategy will be used by a host which plays against a Killer parasite?
HOST PARASITE: Killer
Killer Wh = Ph(Whmax-Rh)
Wp = Pp(Wpmax-Vp)
Diplomat Wh = 0
Wp = Wpmax-Vp
In this case, the only strategy to be adopted by the host is that of Killer, whatever the values of the parameters.

😁Man, you just can't skim read a Plugson post - that hurt my head but it was worthwhile as always - sadly you are correct, the malicious eCanadian parasites are hard at work killing the poor host - if this keeps up they'll soon find they only have a dead corpse on which to feed - I guess at that point they will become maggots.
