Let's Go

Day 845, 11:44 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Hassan Pesaran

Not every month in eRepublik can be full of war, intrigue, resignations and action. Following Dishmcds’s month, where we not only faced an invasion of our own country, but managed to even repel it, is never going to be easy. The international stage has quietened, with countries going back to their respective routines; planning training wars to keep the economy chugging along, party politicians bickering and IRC trolling. So it goes on.

Karacticus’s team, however, does not intend to be ground to a halt of apathy by the slow period. The Cabinet has put together a decisive set of policies to combat this period of drought in eRepublik. At the core of it all is one simple word; INVOLVEMENT. We want to make sure that every single one of you, the eUK citizens, whether you are a soldier, a worker, a politician or all of the above, can get the most out of your eRepublik experience. What are these policies, you might ask? Well, let’s find out!

Within the eUK there are six Ministries. While some of these are relatively minor, they all play a part in keeping the eUK a successful and efficiently run country.

Ministry of Finance

The new Minister of Finance, elbanaan, is vastly experienced in the economic side of eRepublik. We can trust that our finances are secure with a figure like elbanaan at the helm. In regards to involving citizens, elbanaan has taken on a number of new staff, ensuring that future Ministers are well prepared to deal with the nation’s gold.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is led by Mr Woldy, one of the most approachable and talented people in the eUK. He is also a former President. He has taken on a much larger team than last month, including two under Ministers with two apprentices each. Foreign affairs is an increasingly important aspect of eRepublik, and it is vital that as much knowledge is gained as possible from all individuals in the eUK. The month ahead for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is one of rebuilding relations with Ireland, maintaining strong relations with Phoenix and generally kicking EDEN ass.

Ministry of Home Affairs

The Ministry of Home Affairs has an enormous team, featuring an outrageous 48 staff. There are multiple facets of the Ministry of Home Affairs, with their duties including, but not limited to, helping new citizens, updating the Wikipedia, encouraging off site promotion and much more. For a more fully featured article, head to over here where you can find a wealth of information. Be sure to subscribe to that paper too.

Ministry of Work

Meghan, the current Minister of Work, has been working hard to streamline this selfless ministry. It is highly important that all new players to eRepublik have a source of income, and this ministry is designed to provide that service. The players who join government companies will also be messaged to give further details about getting more involved in eRepublik. Getting a job can often be the first step for new players, and they must be confident doing so.

Ministry of Defence

The Ministry of Defence is arguably one of the most important ministries in the eUK. It is responsible for organising our Armed Forces in assisting our Allies as well as making sure that our borders are secure. Tom Morgan and Pensive, the Chief of Defence Staff and Minister of Defence respectively, have vital roles in the coming weeks as they are integral in planning the transition into Version 2. They have already begun reform – gulp! – with the intention to streamline the Military and increase efficiency across the board. Make sure you subscribe to the all important Ministry of Defence Paper here.

Ministry of Legislative Affairs

malta_1990 is the longstanding Minister of Legislative Affairs and has proved that he is simply the most knowledgeable regarding eUK legislation. The MoLA is not just responsible for keeping the legislation up to date, however, its duties also include keeping track of votes in the House of Commons and Lords, making sure citizenship is given to the right people and dealing with House of Lords nominations. The MoLA works behind the scenes, keeping those cogs turning.

I hope this overview of the Ministries has proved useful so you can live safe in the knowledge that the Government is working for you, the citizens of the eUK.

Finally, I would like to encourage everyone to come to the Question Time on the IRC server irc.rizon.net in the channel #cabinet.public every Wednesday and Saturday at 8PM for a full update on Government activities and a chance for you to ask questions. For more details, head over here
