Legends of Canada: The tanks that toppled London

HISTORY LESSONS ARE THE BEST

As promised, I will drop an article every couple weeks with some nuggets of eCan history. The first will be from the day London finally fell.

Legends of Canada: The tanks that toppled London

With wars covering just about every corner of the eWorld and countries trading territories back and forth constantly, it’s hard to imagine a time in the game when there were regions or fortresses that never changed hands. However, in the early days of eRepublik, that used to be quite common. But after nearly 4 years of game play (1,397 days), there was just one region on the World map that was able to boast this honour: London.

And boy did eUK and their friends in the ONE ( formerly Pheonix ) alliance boast about this.

However, after years of getting picked on, eCanada and our allies in eIreland (and eFrance) developed a plan to conquer virgin London, and pop it's cherry once and for all.

The battle that followed went down in history as one of the first truly epic battles in eRepublik. With over 25,000 kills, a first for eRepublik, and over 500,000,000 in damage on each side (remember at that time-even titan rank was super exclusive), the battle was truly incredible.

Nearly every eCanadian and eIrish citizen participated. And all of eCanada’s great tanks and industry leaders donated to the cause with gifts of over 8,722 tanks and endless food for fighters.

When the dust cleared, eCanada was successful in capturing the last stronghold left in the game, and planted a maple leaf in the heart of the city.

Beyond capturing London, the battle changed the way the game was played. It forged stronger alliances and birthed a new generation of Canadian tanks.
