Leak O'Clock

Day 1,344, 07:46 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Aidizzle

Hi there.

OK, since I am the ONE DIPLOGUY and some other stuff I am posting this here. For some time UK has been moving closer to ONE, into what is commonly called "the pro-ONE camp".

This has it's benefits (ONE fights with us and vice versa) but also brings problems. It's hard to find people sometimes, we have no representation within ONE other than me, and that is basically because it is my personal relationships not my position and can't be relied on.

I have spoken to other proONE countries, namely the other members of the big 5 proONE countries (Slovenia, Indonesia, Iran & Turkey) and they are all amenable to the idea of formalising the proONE block into an alliance.

What would this mean?

1. Increased lobbying power through the form of an official who would sit in the ONE alliance etc.
2. Greater friendships with the above countries
3. This is sanctioned by ONE who have been trying to get us to form a sub-alliance like ABC for ages
4. Potential to make a combined elite night-force like the ONE NW but with some actual joint funding.
5. Long-term, if we resolve our differences, a more formal union between ourselves and ONE itself is not out of the question.

Really I think this is a no-brainer, as it's a small group, we would lose nothing and gain more punch internationally. Also, to put it into context, people with proONE cs (which admittedly includes a few countries not involved so far) hit more than Terra (about 550m a day) and almost as much as EDEN most days. So we're not that weak.

Anyway, joining ONE is out of the question until we resolve issues with Spain/Poland and would be bad for both of us. This is a nice intermediary and as I said, from a foreign affairs perspective holds no negatives unless people want to move away from ONE.

Anyway, discuss. A basic document has been made for us to "sign" which would basically just say "we are allies, we will have a SG, SC etc". It is very basic and includes nothing of controversy. There is talk of a joint funded night watch program, but I guess it would cost less than 50k gbp a month to the UK ta😜ayer, which in relative terms is 2 days income, and apparently well within our ability to pay according to Emergy.

Before he died jamesw was in favour of the move and the other countries have been enthusiastic about it. I can't think of any more info but I wanted to bring it to congresses attention now (early stages of talks) so you'd have time to think about it etc, as obviously you'd have to vote on it.
