Join the new world

It was an exciting day all over the New World as countries start setting the boundaries in further preparation for Erepublik V2, making sure their respective goals are met and protecting their interests.

The Baltic nations have gone to war, Phoenix is making a counter-charge into the Polish held UK lands, Resistance wars abound and two former enemies are closing up a deal that sealed the fate of Mexico.


Since this article is called "The Great Polish Landswap", I thought I should start with that


Polish slowly advances despite Resistance Wars, gains foothold on American continent

The Polish War Machine advanced into North America today, landswapping with Ireland to capture the region of Connecticut but was stalled by a UK counteattack into the region, along with Scotland and Yorkshire, all of which have been pushed into the underground. Poland is a mighty nation but can't survive a counterattack from the UK's 12 Phoenix allies, EDEN Mobile Forces and Paramilitary Groups will have to protect the Polish regions if they are to have any success in keeping the landswap alive.

Presumably in case of failure in the defense of those regions, Poland invaded Cork and Kerry, Ireland, which also happens to be my home and a Q5 hospital region. If Poland doesn't win on the defense, they still will have a territory with which to advance into the American continent. This writer advises all Irish in Cork and Kerry to get a moving ticket and move to the Southeast, which is currently under attack by the UK but will probably be won as the bulk of the UK is fighting in the more important Polish battles.

Sweden is also in the process of getting to North America right behind Poland but could be prevented by the UK counterrattack. However they launched their own attack of Scotland on Poland and we'll see tomorrow if EDEN can get another victory and get these nations into the American heartland.

On another note: It seems the UK couldn't hold the Irish regions it conquered yesterday as it lost both to a resistance war.

EDIT: RW in Connecticut was won, USA should own the region however for some reason Poland still does, somehow the UK was also able to retreat a region and then attack three more. Somebody fix the war module.

Lithuania and Estonia declare war on Latvia, invade all home regions

In a move that was greatly anticipated by many, Lithuania and Estonia have finally declared war on their belligerent neighbor, Latvia. Latvia, as some of you may know, was recently kicked out of the Phoenix alliance for not complying with member rules (Not sure which, assuming Military deployments) and therefore had no strong MPPs with anyone. Latvia and Lithuania recently had a huge trolling war between each other over a few insults and the situation greatly escalated, eventually bringing the two countries to war.

Lithuania invaded the regions of Zemgale and Latgale, while Estonia invaded Kurzeme and Vidzeme.
Now if your like me and don't have a complete knowledge of the geography of Latvia, let me help you out here. Basically Lithuania is taking the South and East half of Latvia, while Estonia takes the North and West.

It's hard to judge whether any international aid will come to Latvia, but they have 3 MPPs consisting of Turkey, Slovenia and Venezuela which should be enough to stop any advances and they have a Polish MPP being voted on. If they can't take over Latvia before the Polish MPP is activated, then there is really no chance without considerable Phoenix support.

Spain and Italy finish up, Mexico is split down the middle

In a move that was deemed traitorous by Entente, member nation Italy worked with the Eden nation of Spain (Which invaded France along with Poland and the US and occupied regions for months) to invade Mexico and take two high oil regions for the each of then. Mexico at the time was occupied by Venezuela to help stop a PTO when Spain came knocking at the door, taking three regions before stopping and letting Italy landswap through to take one of the high oils. Italy is now returning the Spanish regions they held to get to Mexico and everything seemed to work out smoothly.

It's interesting to note that Spain now has a border with the US, meaning EDEN could get another power (Besides US and soon-to-be Poland) into Asia to help take down Phoenix and possibly invade Russia after all those MPPs were activated by Russian Hero, HankScorpio.
