Korean Freedom Party - The Party with Policies
mr. brodie
Korea is going to turn in many new directions over the coming month and we feel that it's important for you, the people, to know what's avaliable to you. This "manifesto" sums up some of the important policies that'll help Korea. We have plenty of other ideas to make a more functional country. Join us today.
1. We want the union of all Koreans on the basis of the principle of self-determination of all peoples.
2. We demand that the Korean people have rights equal to those of other nations; we want a secure Korea.
3. The right to choose the government and determine the laws of the State shall belong only to citizens. We therefore demand that no public office, of whatever nature, whether in the central government, the province, or the municipality, shall be held by anyone who is not a citizen.
4. We wage war against the corrupt parliamentary administration whereby men are appointed to posts by favor of the party without regard to character and fitness.
5. We demand that the State shall above all undertake to ensure that every citizen shall have the possibility of living decently and earning a livelihood. If it should not be possible to feed the whole population then emergency measures shall be introduced.
6. All citizens must possess equal rights and duties.
7. The first duty of every citizen must be to work mentally or physically. No individual shall do any work that offends against the interest of the community to the benefit of all.
Therefore we deman😛
8. Since every war imposes on the people, we ask that no unnecessary government spending is used during such times.
9. We demand the creation and maintenance of a sound middle-class, the immediate communalisation of large companies which will be rented cheaply to small trades people, and the strongest consideration must be given to ensure that small traders shall deliver the supplies needed by the State, the provinces and municipalities.
10. We demand that ruthless war be waged against those who work to the injury of the common welfare. Traitors, usurers, etc, are to be punished.
11. In order to make it possible for every capable and industrious Korean to obtain higher education/work, and thus the opportunity to reach into positions of leadership, the State must assume the responsibility of organising thoroughly the entire cultural system of the people.
12. The State has the duty to help raise the standard of national health by providing maternity welfare centers.
13. We demand the abolition of the regular army and the creation of a national army split into sectors.
14. We demand that there be a legal campaign against those who propagate deliberate political lies and disseminate them through the press. In order to make possible the creation of a Korean press, we deman😛
(a) All editors and their assistants on newspapers must publish in the English or Korean language to keep the Media clean and accessible by all. (Individual cases may vary).
15. Freedom of speech is absolute (as long as it doesn’t break policy 23.a). We demand the creation of a government press office keeping the public informed of current affairs.
16. Newspapers transgressing against the common welfare shall be publicly condemned.
17. We demand freedom for all religious faiths in the state, insofar as they do not endanger its existence or offend the moral and ethical sense of the Korean people.
18. The people make the country so we will create the best environment possible for them to progress.
19. No governmental decision shall be made without the consent of congress.
20. In order to carry out this program we deman😛
the creation of a strong central authority in the State, the unconditional authority by the political central parliament of the whole State and all its organizations.
The formation of professional committees and of committees representing the several estates of the realm, to ensure that the laws promulgated by the central authority shall be carried out by the federal states.
COMMON GOOD BEFORE INDIVIDUAL GOOD

Could you clarify and/or expand on policy point 9 please?
Other than that - wow! That's a lot of text but in terms of the functions of eRepublik itself - what does it all translate into in terms of taxes, organisations, flow of goods and the other sundry statistics?
Also, yes on 3 and 4 which I believe tie into 19 and I for one would like to see congressional approval of government posts or even posts for congress members.
Point 5 I believe (from my own point of view) to be rather redundant.
11 Yes, 12 yes - but not restricted to maternity!!!!! but on productive citizenship.
We want to set up government companies in which we can create a strong surplus of goods. These companies will be run by citizens (official and trustworthy ones)to not only save time but to also train them in the art of business. Many people wish to run a company but don't have the means necessary to do so, this at least gives them a taste of it.
Certain sectors/areas need different amounts of goods - we'd provide them, to the best of our ability, with the tools necessary for them to progress.
Taxes would have to change depending on the current state of the market. It's hard to predicts what needs to go up/down until the time comes. I'd change taxes to allow other countries to import here for the goods we need. But then I'd raise them in the market become too flooded and it stopped the Korean economy selling its own produce.
Regarding organisations, I'd like to set up a range of different schemes combating different areas within the country. I'll probably reveal more in terms of how I'd run the country (organisation wise) sometime in the future.
Woah - that's a lot of replying I have to do 😉You keep writing more.
Regarding point 5, if our country wasn't able to maintain wellness or purchase food, then we'd need to ask others for aid. Grain is the most important material there is and if we're running short then something has to be done. Also on the fair living part of 5, we'd set a benchmark for wages and such so people were all paid fairly and nobody was being taken advantage of.
The power should be in the hands of the people, not just a single government official. That's how I see it anyway. We need the people to know what we're doing, so we don't hide things. That also links in with the policy that we'd be posting articles informing the people weekly (now that I look, I think I took it out to make sure it's a simple 20 point manifesto - that's something I'll need to add in the future).
I think I grasp where you're coming from now and look forward to you turning your 'rhetorical' aims into a concrete plan.
Sometime before the next election I guess 😉
