Keeping the Poor, Poor

Yesterday I went to see how much someone with a skill of 0-0.99 could get paied a day, and what I found made me sick. The Pirate Training Company own's a large percent of the o skill job market. They pay only 1.01 usd a day and the chepist Q1 food is 1.06 usd. That means that for days even weeks they can not afford to buy anthing but food for some time. This also means that when they get a new job they will have little money and be falling behind in their monatry gain. Somthing should be done about this but of corse the good congressmen just sit in office and do nothing but play jokes. Congress elections are soon vot smart. But some congress members may be good the rest are do nothing pranksters.

Um... you get out of the skill 1 area in a couple days. Trust me, for me that wasn't to long ago. I was fine.
You are only in that skill band for two days, then your employer will increase your salary, or you will wait another day and quit for a skill one job.
And you also start with 5 gold...

I was poor once, when I fist started the game, it's a hard hard life. Now im not anymore, I worked my way up and I got a really job, got into the army and I'm going to run for congress. Be nice to the poor, the only reason I feel a bit empathy for them is that when I started out in the game I was working for minunem wage. Ohh!! I foget I also work for the mentor program, mentorship to new citizens.

I have no problem with this because we have a program called Meals on Wheels that new citizens are provided a link to as soon as they are created.
Also, when I was in the same situation I did the math and quickly realized that I would have a higher skill level in no time. The low wage gave me an incentive in the begining to work every day so I could afford food.
It is a challenge, but a small one. The Pirate training company provides jobs for the new workers, and out of the number of new players that don't make it through, they are probably giving jobs out at a loss to their own company.
I totally agree that people should help new players. The best way is to message them, greet them, and answer their questions.
This will probably be continued to talk about over and over again, as new players come in over and over again and people are constantly introduced to the game. May we all have patience in guiding our citizens to success.
Yes, I started out there, but I now am in a job getting paid after only a few days 5 dollars in a Q1 company.

It would also help if the Meals on Wheels program actually worked. I signed up for that last week, about 5 days ago, and haven't heard a thing. Luckily, I put up a shout asking about help and two people responded donating food and wellness. Dardo Grimlee & Jon Konning were both very giving! Thanks again guys!
