A Very, Very Brief Introduction to the SFP

The Socialist Freedom Party was re-founded on a solidly e-revolutionary basis, in the Days of Scrabman, by the dashingly handsome Osmany Ramon...

Since then, the SFP has never fallen down -- although it may have wobbled from time to time -- in its commitment to high-quality, fun-soaked socialism with a large dollop of freedom added. Not only 'cause it tastes better that way, but because you can't have worker solidarity without freedom of thought.

The SFP is a welcoming party. It welcomes rebels, revolutionaries, free-thinkers and policy wonks of all kinds. For those who may recoil at the word "socialism", well... this is not the place for a long diatribe on what we mean by that. (You can rely on PQ to write an enormously long essay on it at some point.) Besides, you'd probably get six different answers anyway if you asked six different members.

It may suffice simply to share one of our favorite slogans:
Freedom without socialism is privilege and injustice, and socialism without freedom is slavery and brutality.

The SFP encourage programs and game strategies that emphasize both social solidarity and individual intiative. Some members like to use the language of e-socialism, e-communism, e-christianity, e-anarchism and so on. Others not so much. We run the gamut: from enlisted military and government operators, to grassroots community-builders and Seal Team Sixers, to fierce critics of the establishment.

What unites such a diverse group is a commitment to critical thinking and freedom.

Nobody gets shot down for not following "the party line". Just the opposite. While building on successes and learning from past experience, folks are encouraged to step forward with fresh ideas and to put them into practice.

Maybe it will surprise some of our erstwhile international comrades to learn that there's even a neo-conservative wing of the SFP! (Though some of us do like to think of that wing as a type of reformed e-Trotskists. LOL.) But how can that be? Tea Party types mingling with Socialists?!?! It's because we're not about leftist dogma; we're about the spirit of the Great Resistance.

As an old friend used to wisely say to me (when I was running off at the mouth, and would trip up on my own convoluted theories), "I think your karma just ran over your dogma." Yeah, words to live by.

Or, as another even older friend liked to say, not quite so wisely...
Quantum materiae materietur marmota monax si marmota monax materiam possit materiari?

(BTW, a Q1 house will be rewarded to the first person who comments with the correct translation of that phrase.)
