Just How Stupid Are We?

This article is in response to a question raised by Crisfire in the comments section of President Addy Lawrence's latest article.

Crisfire wrote:

did the party's that dropped the ball request blockers from anyone?

Crisfire is referring to the parties that failed to have blockers to prevent the PTO group from running in yesterday's Congressional elections.

Two parties ran PTOers.

1) Norsefire - It has been widely known that Norsefire is not a 'real' political party. Norsefire has no forums, no IRC, no internal party communications. Norsefire has one member and that is Rolo, (two if you count me, though officially I have joined MOO and am only running in Norsefire to fill a spot on the ballot.

So, it comes as no surprise that Rolo did not seek out blockers. Everyone who was paying attention should have known this.

2) Union Nationale - After being PTO'd last month, UN members ensured eCanada that they would be able to be trusted again as a Top 5 party. The current PP, Christopher True, did not seek out help and the few blockers that were arranged were done by people such as Simon Boucher-Ruest (a CPP member).

Christopher True claims that RL got in the way and he could not ask for help as he was too busy. This is certainly possible, however he was able to find the time to place himself as a candidate. I ask if someone is too busy to take the 30 seconds to PM the President or one of the other Top 5 PPs but can find time to place himself in a prime location for his own Congressional run, what exactly is this persons priorities?

Reading comments made by Mr. True in comments/shouts/Congress, I come up with two conclusions. Either he screwed up and didn't ask for help and will not admit it, or he is simply concerned with his own future career and getting his 5 gold per month.

The goal of eCanada for the next 30 days should be the complete and utter destruction of the Union Nationale. Sure, people will want to jump all over Rolo, but at least with Rolo you know what you have. You have to find blockers. We're are not going to be blamed after the fact for not offering to help. Certainly if people wish, both UN and Norsefire may need to be removed, but unlike Rolo, Union Nationale members have proven they are unpredictable and cannot ensure the safety of their party or eCanada. Rolo's actions when it comes to Congressional elections are predictable. Union Nationale has shown on multiple occasions now that they have no interest in doing what is right, nor admitting to that fact and there for need to be treated as a threat to eCanada and removed from Top 5.
