Joint Presidential Statement on the Proposed Abolition of Mayors
We the Presidents of the nations of eRepublik note with concern the proposal to abolish local democracy in V1. The mayoral system is a fundamental component of democracy. It allows players to gain experience of politics and elections at local level. It allows local decisions to be made, such as giving direct aid to new citizens.
We would therefore request the eRepublik administrators to make a further report to citizens on an urgent basis, setting out a clear timetable for the mayoral system to be restored.
