Joeph Cole - A Closer Look

Day 374, 09:49 Published in USA USA by NoneSuch

This is a semi-short interview I had with Joeph over the past two days. Ever since he lost the last congressional elections I was curious about how he felt about it and how he was coping. He's making the best of it and apparently has some big ideas for the near future.

1) You've been a player for 7 months now, are currently ranked #10 in the country, and are highly respected by most higher level eUSA citizens. How is it that you've managed to go this long and not gotten nearly as much political recognition as other senior players?

- I believe it is because I don't force myself onto people. I originally felt as if, if people genuinely appreciated me, things would fall into place by themselves. Unfortunately this attitude lent itself to me being quiet in the media and in some public services. I have learned much from just observing, and the thing I've observed as of late is that observing isn't going to move me any further.

2) What would you say has been the high point in your eRepublik career either politically, militarily, or economically?

- Well, being a Colonel of the Army is one of the more purposeful things I have done, but I can easily outweigh that with everything else I've done. I've been a congressman, businessman, am currently a cabinet member, former mayor, journalist, friend, advisor, mentor, and a pain in a side of a few guys. Some of those I have done better than others. I can't choose one highpoint, because quite honestly right now this is just one of many.

3) I know you have recently shown interest in becoming even more active within the community; can you give us any specifics at this point?

- Well, obviously I need to get the Department of Education back off the ground. I plan to do just that with ssomething I plan to unveil within a few days. I plan on setting my sights on a party presidential position, although I haven't exactly decided where or when. Hopefully we can get more fun into eRep too, while not as going as far as "The Party", we need to do something other than random contests and lotteries.

4) Party president aye? I don't mean to get ahead of you here but party history aside, what do you think you could bring to a political party that no other candidate can bring?

- Well, a fresh face for one. Okay, I shouldn't say "fresh". Last month had me really thinking about this in the UCP, so I'm going to use that as an example. Justinious has done a great job in maintaining the party and keeping it as awesome as he can, but we have become stagnate in the number of citizens in our party. With nothing against him, I think him being "king" may have hurt us more than help us with the stability it has provided. Drastic changes also kill parties, but I believe I can provide a bit of both. We need to be active in our recruiting, but not go as far as the USWP has gone. Active members are going to be the difference here. From what I've learned in the eArmy I can easliy manage many different people which will definitely keep people engaged, active, and interested in the party. Through activity and strong leadership we'll have the strongest party in the nation. And I think I can achieve that.

5) It looks like you are getting rather serious about running for PP... Is there anything you would like to say to your potential voters?

- Well you all know me in one form or another, or at least I hope you do. I know how things are being run and I see room for improvement. But it's up to you guys if you want to see them as well. Expect me to shake things up a bit.

Please don't view this interview as me endorsing Joeph for anything. It isn't my place to do that in this article. However I do think that he deserves more than the hand he has been dealt lately and I'm hoping this will get him some much needed press.
