Japan's First Presidential Debate!
Modelcon
Due to the enthusiastic response of eJapanese citizens, I am proposing our first eJapanese debate!
The voters need to really understand the issues, newspaper articles do not truly reflect the urgency of situations. When contenders have 5 days to formulate an opinion, so often is the true message hidden beneath a shell of rhetoric. We need the contenders to come out raw, with opinions from the heart, not merely the brain.
Here are the rules that I propose:
1. Questions be submitted by eCitizens of any country (haha, not that many non-Japanese will read this)
2. Each candidate may not take more than 3 mins to answer a question.
3. Candidates shall congregate on a designated IRC Channel, preferably a new one, such as #JDebates.
4. Audience members shall keep quiet during the debates, but they will have some brief time to question candidates individually, see below.
5. Thus shall be the format of the debates:
I. Moderator asks question.
II. Each contender shall have 3 mins to answer said question. Audience shall keep quiet.
III. Audience members may go into more detail for questions, and press issues.
6. Debate goes on if more than 1 member signs up. No one may force contenders to debate
So far, out of our three candidates, Ice_Freeze, GLaDOS and akki, IF has signed up. The other two have yet to answer. I do ask that you refrain from commenting on this article until those three have officially signed up. Do not clog our first slots unless absolutely necessary.
Otherwise, all questions will be taken from comments submitted on this article. If you have any question regarding economy, military or foreign affairs, post it up here.
May the glorious motherland triumph!

Please save the following three slots for akki, GLaDOS and IF for their confirmations.
Well, there's at least one non-Japanese who reads this!
Having debates is a great idea. The Presidential races in the US take place mostly over newspapers or occasionally forums, and the candidates never talk directly to each other. This is a good way to see how the candidates are next to each other.
"When contenders have 5 days to formulate an opinion..."
Um, I think it should be Monday or something, Im game for tonight, but it seems like you went to bed
Anyway Im game hope the others are too Im in the chat if people want to ask questions or just chat
Also I ask for Impluse or NL to have their party support me and make it "game official" due to some "stuff" im not official
@pyroelectricity: we had a debate almost every month from April through November in the US. I set up every one except September's. If you guys have one this month, I'll definitely be there.
As for Japan's debate, GladDOS recently dropped out of the race, so it's just Akki and IF now.
hey I am non-Japanese and I read this 🙂
Alright. I'm a candidate. I will be represneting UBN in lieu of GLaDOS
Forget it, it's off. Akki doesn't have time, and come to think of it, neither do I. If someone else wants to host it, go right ahead. It's not off if someone steps up.
I think offline debates are easier. Just PM each candidate an assortment of questions that you compile and when they all reply back, make another article with their answers.
Agree.
Usually in other country they do interview to each candidate via PM.
feel free to pm me then
