Japan's First Presidential Debate!

Day 438, 19:14 Published in Japan China by Modelcon

Due to the enthusiastic response of eJapanese citizens, I am proposing our first eJapanese debate!

The voters need to really understand the issues, newspaper articles do not truly reflect the urgency of situations. When contenders have 5 days to formulate an opinion, so often is the true message hidden beneath a shell of rhetoric. We need the contenders to come out raw, with opinions from the heart, not merely the brain.

Here are the rules that I propose:
1. Questions be submitted by eCitizens of any country (haha, not that many non-Japanese will read this)
2. Each candidate may not take more than 3 mins to answer a question.
3. Candidates shall congregate on a designated IRC Channel, preferably a new one, such as #JDebates.
4. Audience members shall keep quiet during the debates, but they will have some brief time to question candidates individually, see below.
5. Thus shall be the format of the debates:
I. Moderator asks question.
II. Each contender shall have 3 mins to answer said question. Audience shall keep quiet.
III. Audience members may go into more detail for questions, and press issues.
6. Debate goes on if more than 1 member signs up. No one may force contenders to debate

So far, out of our three candidates, Ice_Freeze, GLaDOS and akki, IF has signed up. The other two have yet to answer. I do ask that you refrain from commenting on this article until those three have officially signed up. Do not clog our first slots unless absolutely necessary.

Otherwise, all questions will be taken from comments submitted on this article. If you have any question regarding economy, military or foreign affairs, post it up here.

May the glorious motherland triumph!
