IV. [CoI] Supply Upgrades
Dereck Ryan
Good day Captains and potential Captains!
As some of you already know, Captains of Industry now has the ability to produce a limited number of Q7 weapons. We took advantage of the recent sale to upgrade 1 of our weapons companies to Q7 and will start adding them to the supply package very soon. You may be wondering why we only upgraded 1 company, and that's a legitimate question. My answer is this: not only do they require a considerable amount of gold to upgrade - 252 on sale! - but they also require 40k WRM to produce 200 weapons. As of right now, that is a cost of $8,800.
For us to fully convert to Q7s would require spending about $27,000 per day on WRM. That's a crazy high number, especially when you consider that our only source of income - the subsidy provided by the government of eCanada - is $7,800 per day. We have built a reputation as the most fiscally stable military unit in the country, able to turn our funding into an excellent source of supplies for our members. To quote Max Maher from our most recent congressional audit:
"In fact, although the govt funded each soldier for about 105 CAD per day last month, CoI was able, with their slave pit system to supply each member daily with a supply worth about 600 CAD. So when the gov't invest CAD in CoI, the MU increased the funding by 6 and gives it to their soldiers."
Nonetheless, we understand the desire for the high-powered Q7s and so we will be supplying them in the following way:
For those members who are employed in a Captains of Industry slave pit, you will be supplied 5 Q7s and 5 Q6s on Monday and Thursday. This will allow you to use them the following day in the Fight Night competitions.
For everyone else in the MU, a number of Q7s will be awarded randomly as a part of your DO Reward. That number will be determined in the coming weeks as we tweak our production capabilities, and the financial commitments they require.
As for what the future holds for Captains of Industry, stay tuned! A full conversion to Q7s isn't entirely out of the question, particularly if the price of WRM continues to drop. In any event we will continue to do our best to provide you with high quality supplies, while remaining fiscally responsible.
See you on the battlefield!

Love seeing responsibility in eCanada! Dereck Ryan for a cabinet post anyone?
3 q7 (30 hits) require the same amount of WRM as 10 q6 (60 hits). Even if price drops, for the same amount of raw materials supplying q7 only gives half the amount of hits. Trying to change to q7 will require more money no matter what the WRM price actually is. As WRM price drops so will the price of finished goods. So selling excess to pay for raw will still be the same whether or not raw price changes. You will spend less but get less back as well.
That depends CFovetS. If you look at the market a month ago or a couple months back before Rockets were added. You will see that WRM cost only one sixth the price of a weapon. Wages were high, and there was real profit to be made. A small portion of produced weapons could be sold to pay for a full production run. You could be revenue neutral. If the Admins change how WRM is produced, that could be possible again. Currently though, Q7's can't be made revenue neutral.

Great news!
Raw was about 1/6 of the cost because wages were so high. With wages low, finished prices are low. Has little to do with the cost of WRM at this point. Until wages go up communes have less overall value. It's practically independent of raw pricing. We could "afford" to give so much because we could sell at such high prices and didn't have to pay salaries like normal players. Unless there is a drastic increase in salaries we won't make nearly as much as before.

COI is obviously the best MU in eCanada!
These guys are awesome.
Dereck and Goran make this game worth playing for me. The other stuff...it's a bit fluffy and transient, but these two guys together make CoI rock-solid.
Thanks for letting us know about what's develping, Dereck. o7
