It's all about the ratings...

There is surely a plethora of overrated and overestimated players here in eCanada, but there in the shadows stand the underestimated and underrated players - or player as the case may be. They are who I want to shine the spotlight on today, and specifically on one such player - Aeriala.

Now, Aeriala is certainly a name that is well known. He is a player who is not revered as some are but he should be.

However, it is not my intention to focus on the overrated players of this game, but rather I am here to talk about one very successful, capable, and famous eCanadian who is sadly one of the most underestimated players in our little society who never gets the respect they so richly deserve.

Aeriala is one of the hardest working players and the best organizers in all of eRepublick. A player who apparently is not as respected as other players who have not done ten percent of what Aeriala has done for this society.

So why is Aeriala not respected? In my opinion, it is because he is not a sweet-talker, nor will he try to sell you some lies because that is simply not Aeriala's style. Instead, he will tell you the truth and honestly share his opinion directly to your face. There is no subterfuge in Aeriala and you never need to wonder where you stand with him. However, it seems that people would rather hear lies rather than the unvarnished facts. They prefer to have their egos stroked and coddled and avoid and ignore their flaws and imperfections. They would rather foster the illusion they have built here in their imaginary world, and hear the empty praises of how perfect and great they are.

Contrary to the majority, I have always appreciated when someone points out my mistakes. Constructive criticism is how growth and change take place; it allows one to analyze what others have said and allows me to improve myself as a person.

If someone is criticizing you, it means that he actually cares about you and that he believes that you can improve. Such is the case when Aeriala was criticizing CANADA, he was not bashing her out of frustration, and instead he was actually trying to improve this society through constructive criticism.

Yet how did we thank him for all his work and effort? We call him names, waste our time trolling him, and belittle and demean him.

In other places in the eWorld Ariela garners respect and honor for all his work and commitment, yet he chooses to stay here in eCanada. For example, it is enough to mention his short term as CP after Wes Lewis stole several thousand gold from the Canadian Treasury. Aerial stepped up to take the reins of Canada in a very troubled time. Eden was falling part, currencies had started to inflate due to changes in the game mechanics, and Canada did not have even a single cent in the treasury. It is a sad fact that the successors of impeached presidents are generally not motivated, perhaps because they do not get the CP medal. Evidently, the lure of the medal outweighs the call of duty to serve.

Yet Aeriala successfully managed to overcome those difficulties - he managed to work out a deal for financial reform, he strengthened the CAF, he managed to negotiate a deal with PANAM - future Terra, but because of his poor PR - he lost the election. The funny thing is that Aeriala could care less about PR and his image - he was busy actually doing something, but it lost him the chance to be re-elected as CP.

Aeriala has continued to work for the good of eCanada - while many have come and gone - Aeriala remains consistent.

Last month I was fortunate to have access to the Terra channels and you would think with how loved and respected Aeriala is there, you would think that the same would be true here in eCanada. But we would rather spit in the face of someone who works tirelessly for us.

If Aeriala was a citizen of any other country, I am sure that he would have accolades and honors galore, perhaps even a RL monument or two! Instead, Aeriala remains steadfast to Canada.

Why? Because Aeriala is a true patriot!

All my life I have hated injustice and as such, I could no longer remain silent about Aeriala.



In closing, I ask you the citizens of Canada to open your eyes and see for yourselves how truly great a person Aeriala is - you won't be sad that you did.
