The above picture shows a missile departs the forward launcher of Vincennes during a 1987 exercise. The same launcher was used in Flight 655's downing.
Iran air flight known with number 655 was flying from Bandar-Abbas city, Iran to Dubai on June third 1988 (31 years ago) but over the Persian gulf was attacked and downed by tow missiles launched by US army cruiser Vincennes leaded and commanded by William C. Rogers III.
290 people including 66 children were killed (All they may rest in peace)
