Introductions

Day 1,916, 21:43 Published in USA USA by Tanishq

Fellow citizens,

First, I want to thank you all for reading the first edition of WeRepublik. I’m excited about my inaugural publication, and I hope you all enjoy what I have to say and will stick around for more to come!

Let me start at the very beginning. I am Tanishq (pronounced “tuh-NEESHK”). I joined eRepublik just a week ago after spotting a game advertisement in the list of Google Chrome browser games. Being a newbie has been rather interesting for me so far (as it always is), and I’d like to take the time to review my experiences and observations as a new player in the next few articles. But before I do that, I’d like to take a moment to recount my initial impression of – and more recent conclusion about – the game.

Perhaps some of you, my readers, experienced disappointment – like I did – once you realized there was not much to the actual game besides working, training, fighting, and joining various organizations. But then someone introduced you to the exciting and fascinating world beyond the game itself – what was to captivate your attention and draw you further into the eWorld, becoming the most important facet of your experience in the eRepublik. The community. The will to create something out of nothing, to rise above the simple game mechanics and become a part of something far bigger and far superior. It is this discovery that has seized my interest and inspired me to strive to become an active, committed member of society. And so I am eager to join you. I hope to learn both from the knowledge of older citizens and from the fledgling experiences of newbies like me. Only time will tell what we can accomplish together.

All best,

Tanishq
