Introducing eRepublik Suggest

Back in June when we interviewed eRepublik's best man George Lemnaru, one thing that struck us as particularly interesting was his reply to one of our questions regarding some minor site improvements:
George: "...I also want to point out that small stuff like this, if requested by the community and we realize it's importance, can be moved faster."
To rephrase that: what the players want matters. eRepublik is at its core a community driven game, a sandbox shaped and re-shaped by thousands of citizens - daily. Everyone has their own opinions on what things to improve, what features to add next, what new countries they want to see. The biggest problem that the community faces is connecting the players with the game developers and making sure that their efforts are co-ordinated. Great suggestions have gone largely unnoticed because they became lost under nearly 4000 others on the official forums.
eRepublik Suggest (erepublik.ws/suggest) is here to change all that and put the power in the hands of the players. Any citizen can now submit their favorite suggestions for major features, small changes/addition, new countries and even bug reports. This means that the community can now vote for the direction that the game should take. Submit an idea, spread the link and let people vote for it. Additionally, each suggestion can be discussed in detail in the comments section.
To do any of this, there is no registration needed, instead your citizen identity is verified securely through the official eRepublik API that is hosted on the eRepublik.com servers.
Note: eRepublik Suggest is currently in Beta, this means that we're open to any feedback for improvements or problems with the site. Things like "search", "duplicate detection" and more will be added in due time.

it should have a 'vote against' feature included. Then have separate comments columns for the pro and con lobbies.
yeah polkadot sounds good but the + and - would have to be separate and not in one total thing or it would be an STO (suggestion take over) lol

this is just for future reference, but if one country liked a feature that they were taking advantage of they could just go in and vote it all down giving a false opinion to the guy checking it.

are the comments capped at 10? One has 14 comments, but there is no "next page" or "view all" option for comments.

@Polka - the comments issue has been fixed, there is now a "view all" link.
@Tyrone - suggesters username is intentionally hidden to avoid bias. Pagination is coming 🙂

@Nairb - it only asks for auth login once, after that its automatic until you clear your cookies.

I just tried to make a suggestion and it wouldn't let me because I am a new player. To prevent spam, is thirty days really necessary? Can't suggestions be based on gaining a certain level? Or on having suggestions by new players screened before they post? I am trying really hard to be satisfied enough to even want to make it TO 30 days on here. Surely there has to be a better way to encourage participation.
Improved company manager statistics and production data sheet - so that one doesn't have to look at each employee's wellness as the only (so-so reliable) indicator of workers productivity.

Correct me if I am wrong, but is this an off-site project where you collect data from what the users want, process that information and hand it to the erepublik development team?
If it is, then why is it done off-site instead of on-site? That makes no sense to me, as your page gets fraction of the amount of users that visit the actual site.
Ps. Also, try not to steal all the credit for the ideas posted on your site 😉

Can you make it so you can filter out the country suggestions. they all pretty much say the same thing and its annoying having to keep going thru them
@falkeep - users younger than 30 days can do everything except "suggest" new ideas. 30 days is a fair amount to get to know the game and its community I think.
@erwin - I don't hand anything to anyone. Its up to the community and the eRep team to make the most of it 🙂
