Intro to TheMIRROR

Assalamualaikum (peace be upon you)

After much thought and perspiration this is what I come up with.
Well to my credit how many people sweat over creating an online newspapers? (Much of the sweat can, no doubt, be attributed to load shedding!)
So, here I am! A female journalist who happens to be a Pakistani, bringing you another newspaper to contend with the many!

I know where the mind tends to wander.
So is this where this newspaper begins a subtle conspiracy to save your 'condemned souls'  and urging to unite as a 'Muslim ummah' 
Or are we the voice of modernism. Trying desperately hard to prove we are what we aren't but what is glamorous.

Well think again. 

And I guess it IS about time.

So let's get this straight, once and for all.
Muslims aren't all solemn bearded mullahs. And if you are solemn and bearded it doesn't mean you don't have awesome ninja skills. 

That was a joke.

And in an Islamic republic it's perfectly legal to make one.

TheMIRROR aims to be an outlet for diversity. We want to let you have not just the news but also where you stand in it. A reflection of what you are as an individual, community, race & nation.

We also plan on being interactive. Trust me when I say I know the pain of having to listen silently to people who think they know better. But this newspaper offers full fledged contributions.
For eg we'd love to hear your views on what you think an Islamic republic is!
Trust me basic as it seems people all over the world are mystified by this term.

We want you to be clear on one thing. We respect who you are and we appreciate it. So let's shed old notions. Let's be mirrors.
Let's do a spit handshake on it!
