Interview with Khotko, MoFA of Russia

Day 3,818, 07:25 Published in Ireland Hungary by aimeisan

Dear citizens of eIreland,

Recently I received a request to make interview with the Russian government. You are free to make such requests, I will try to fulfil them as my time allows. This time I asked Khotko, Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs about Russia, the USA war, the wars Russia was involved in and many other things. I hope you will like it!

1. You seem to be the most active member of the Russian government, is this true? What are your tasks in the government?

Russia had a quite active government in April, many of people in it had little to no government experience. Still this cabinet ended two wars against big opponents like Greece and Argentina in a victory despite having less money or damage. It wasn't my activity alone that made it.
My tasks centered around coordinating diplomatic and military effort, and providing private support and/or funding to important battles or initiatives.
In May I am running for Country President, but this will be a calm month I hope.

2. How is Russia's relationship with USA? Do you have equally good relationship with all Pacifica countries?

We are probably longest standing American ally at this point of time. We have had our good and bad times, of course not every Pacifica year was full all about love and mutual understanding. Countries were at a cold war situation at some point, and I myself was in America not Russia at that time. Can't say we have bad relations right now though. After all, you help friends and allies not because they are nice, but because this is the proper way to fight a war in a good company. We have very good pilots, and we help how we can, especially in the air.
On Pacifica, no, I wouldn't say all countries are equally close to us. We respect and try to help everybody, of course. But in Pacifica I can't avoid from mentioning Poland, who has become a country with which we have 100% understanding in these years, and two ex-Asgard countries, Finland and Sweden, who have been close allies to us for many years.

3. What do you think what is the reason of the occupation of USA on the part of Bulgaria, Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) and Lithuania? Is it because USA deviated from proAsteria line, or it has other reason?

The gameplay of American leadership could logically end up in one of two options: either USA is safe on 100% bonus or current situation.
Most of the time it ended up well.
I don't necessarily mean USA was wrong or right, every country has its own gameplay, the so-called WO doctrine worked for America for a long time.
But of course, when the 'black swan' of Croatian rebirth rose it wings, it was just a matter of time before all countries who felt negative for America strike it too.
This is probably the case with the countries you have mentioned.

4. Do you think Bulgaria, Republic of Macedonia (FYROM) and Lithuania can be removed through diplomacy?

These countries, in my opinion, will leave only when a solution suiting all parties and which shows respect to them and doesn't humiliate is found. Otherwise they will remain until changes in leadership happen or determination is high. But I am sure America will be free in the foreseeable future.

5. Do you think there is a chance that Poland will break up with USA if the situation won't improve?

I see no indication of why Poland should break up with any country if this country acts reasonable and doesn't change sides. Same with Russia.

6. Russia has very good relationship with Bulgaria. If you had to choose between them, which one is more important for you, Bulgaria or USA?

If you had to choose between your brother and your sister, which one is more important for you?
Or your mum and dad? Or your son or daughter? Every country is unique and important. We are people with emotions, not just called strategists, and on emotional level we have a connection with nearly all countries we are allied to, including both these. We love Bulgaria, we love USA. Not always each of them acts right, but it is a game, we won't stop respecting or caring for somebody if he makes mistakes.
Recently Bulgaria headed a risky and impressive operation against Chile to help Estonia, and we took part in it by attacking Argentina. We fought alongside with Bulgaria shoulder to shoulder and I am proud to have an ally by our side. And USA didn't try to make use of it and strike Bulgaria with all power, it helped us during this time. This gives you a clear overview of that both countries are our ally for a reason.

7. What do you think about the attacks by Greece and Argentina-Chile? Were these annoying or fun?

Greece hasn't been very lucky lately, as result of their bad luck they lost their homeland. An airstrike of Russia was their hope for a new home, after they had to leave Colombia from where Bulgaria removed them. Probably they were hoping for a safe landing. I did all I could to convince Greece through their allies to vote the law down and not make this mistake, but probably it was too late to back down for them. Greece are a country which fights well and their people deserve respect. The first battle went very hard for them, only with help with their Egyptian friends and large spending in the air round they managed to land. Some people in Greece I respect tried to mediate a peace and TW following this battle, but Russia couldn't give in in this situation, and in three battles we removed Greece. Still I don't feel bad for them, I hope Greece will have a good future.
On Chile and Argentina, I am not even sure what their plan was, other than use stingers and rockets before they expire. Going for small Estonia looked very abusive. And I don't know why they didn't go for Russia directly, it would have been an interesting fight. Though maybe Greek example hinted to find a stronghold nearby first.
Luckily, we and Estonia were in a middle of a rent deal with Canada. So Argentina misplanned it first step and landed in the free region near Russian border, exactly the one we have been renting, with a high determination. Like with Greece, Argentina had to spend hard, and the next battle, in which we had initiative as we beat them to the law button, was in our favor at 95-89 or so.
Even more luckily, Bulgaria was nearby to take the war on Chile. Their first battle was one of the most spectacular in recent time.
All in all war was fun though we expected more in the last war day.

8. Wasn't the involvement of Romania an overreaction?

Certainly it wasn't. We broke the opponents' war plan to go into Russian cores.
And we dealt with our direct battles without half of our MPP stack.

9. How is Russia's relation with Hungary? What do you think about Hungary's anti-Asteria stance and why did you vote 'no' for the removal from the alliance?

Even though Hungary occupied Russia back in 2013, I don't believe we have come out of that war with any animosity. Hungary has been a good Pacifica country. I wasn't around when problems began to arise, from what I know there has been some shift in favor to anti-Asterian countries. This, IMHO, was at the same extent a problem of Hungary AND an inability of Pacifican leadership to work out a centralized forein political guidelines. Though I am not sure Pacifica needed those guidelines in the first place. Russia and USA created it, initially, as a defensive alliance promoting mutual prosperity, without strict MPP regulations. Russia voted 'no' because it was our Country President position. I also believe that any country should leave and join alliances taking into consideration its own ideas and thoughts, not only the alliance's.

10. What kind of centralized foreign political guidelines would had you supported? Do you think despite the big differences the situation could had been saved if the member states could find compromise in a common foreign policy guideline?

Frankly, no. An alliance can't have two alignments: for Asteria and for its enemies simultaneously. That was impossible.

11. Why does Russia have TW with Croatia while they are deleting the USA? Is Croatia a good TW partner?

The TW with Croatia has begun before the US war began and it was our only TW. This was insignificant on world scale, removing it does not bring direct benefits to anyone. And yes, Croatia which I contact on Zdlemmy level is a good TW partner.

12. What do you think about the future of the game? If you were admin what would you change to make it better?

First of all I would make a good mobile version, as well as other mini-features, some of which are used in the scripts, like automated hitting, for the convenience of the players.
Second of all, as a player who buys many packs, I would improve customer service and work with payment services to ensure better quality of work.
Third of all, air wars were a new hope for smaller players without big strength. The gap in the air between big fighters and smaller ones shouldn't be to big, everyone should feel they matter. Without air I myself wouldn't have been fighting in battles, and war is the most interesting aspect of the game, let alone socializing.

13. What do you like the most in the game? Will you stay until the admins turn off the lights?

The ability of Russian community to amaze me in any way.
This year I and my friends began largest social programs ever, and dubbed this project the Russian Fund. Today we have the best social policy in erepublik, air fighters get up to 7k CC per week based on their activity, people going for legends receive free tanks, every 1-2 months each Russian player receives a free q5 WRM/FRM company, all citizens sometimes get free q1 houses, and our PowerPack program comprises 30 players who receive packs nearly for free. The social and military output Russians have shown after a couple of months of such policy has amazed me, and I am eager to see what will happen later on. As long as I feel the energy in my community I'm here, as long as I stop to I leave for some time and then return. Most likely the answer to your question is 'yes'.

Thank you.

Thank you very much for the answers, I wish you many success and fun in the future! Russia is really an amazing country!
