International Federation of Liberal Parties

Day 799, 06:11 Published in Netherlands Netherlands by ParaKant

There still are many challenges to Libertarianism into eRepublik: from the violation of human rights, from inadequate and anti-liberal concentrations of power and wealth; and from political corruption. Our duty as Liberals is to seek political responses to these issues. They must promote individual liberty and human rights, open societies and economies, and global cooperation.

The central values of Liberalism are freedom, responsibility, tolerance, social justice and equality of opportunity. They remain the principles on which an open society must be built and they require equilibrium of democratic government, free markets and international cooperation.

This is the reason of the creation of an International Federation of Liberal Parties. It aims at constituting a political unity shaped of parties who support Liberal principles, from countries throughout the world without considering opposed alliances.

Its purpose is to encourage the growth of a free society based on personal liberty, personal responsibility and social justice, and to provide the means of cooperation and interchange of information between the members.

This Federation has to become the base of a better future for each citizen. By pooling ideas to open our mind; by sharing articles to develop our national organization and publicity; and by building strategies together to better respond to any issue or threat, the Federation will become the core of a liberal wind among every State.

Forget any opposed alliance, the cause of international liberty should come first. Eden, Phoenix or any other alliance doesn’t have to stop this cooperation. Wars are a part of the game; however wars are not an obstacle to unify and to share liberal ideas. For now, the idea of an International Federation is well received in United Netherlands, in United Kingdom, in Ireland, in Austria, in Canada, in South Africa and in Australia. Naturally, the Federation has no boundary and each party respecting the liberal principles is welcome.

Though it can be amended and completed, here is the premise of the Federation statement:

- Federation Philosophy

The International Federation of Liberal Parties, IFLP for short, aims at gathering eRepublik Liberal Parties, in order to implement, to manage, to coordinate and to improve international relations, through the agency of sharing ideas, articles and strategies.

- Federation Principles

1. Liberal: freedom is the central word.
2. Democracy: the Federation is only the sum of its members. All the decisions will be discussed and voted together.
3. Cooperation: an open-minded and positive cooperation is expected from all the members of the Federation. We will not always agree, however we have to respect each other, whatever the issue, and to work together for the success of the Federation.

- Federation Forum Policy

1. The International Federation of Liberal Parties gathers the eRepublik liberal parties.
2. Entering the Federation is on invitation, leaving is free.
3. Each new party has been invited after an agreement by the poll by the majority of the members.
4. Each party is represented by maximum two delegates in the Federation. One of them is the official representative of his party to the Federation.
5. Every month, each party has to name its representatives.
6. Each of the two representatives has the right to propose, to debate and to vote issues.
