Indonesia-Malaysia War Continues

Day 739, 16:23 Published in Japan Japan by Ryoushi

As this article goes to press, the early hours of a battle in Peninsular Malaysia are taking place.

Peninsular Malasia

A tremendous amount has happened since yesterday's battle in this same location. Yesterday, the Indonesian military spent thousands of gold and ultimately conquered Peninsular Malaysia. Some estimates have the Indonesians spending as much as 15k gold on the battle. Things looked bleak for Malaysia. With many of their most powerful allies focused on battles in Croatia and Finland, it appeared that Indonesia had calculated correctly, and that they would be able to conquer the whole of Malaysia as a solo project.

Eyewitness Report of the Battle

But if anything has proven true in the history of eRepublik, it is that nothing stays the same. And this maxim held true last night, when Malaysia and its allies, backed into a corner by an imperial aggressor, successfully defended their last region of Sarawak.

Sarawak is Secured by Malaysia!

The victory completely changed the momentum of this war. Indonesia quickly began to use the media to congratulate Malaysia on an exciting fight, and offered to return the two conquered regions and rebuild the Q5 hospital that was destroyed. The Malaysia government went into serious debate on the matter and returned with their answer:

WE WILL NOT FORGET AND WE WILL NOT FORGIVE.

So the war rages on. A war that Indonesia started, knowing that they would have to fight alone against multiples allies, and a war that Indonesia has spent several thousand gold trying to win. A loss to today would mean that a catastrophic miscalculation was made by Indonesia military leaders. With fewer wars raging elsewhere in the world today, it appears that the eyes of Malaysia's allies are squarely focused on the rematch at Peninsular Malaysia. Momentum in this war has shifted, and due the timing of the battle's start, two-clickers from around the world will be able to contribute today, and again tomorrow. By rejecting Indonesia's peace offer, Malaysia has made a big gamble of their own.

The world eagerly awaits the result.
