Indonesia Again...

Day 725, 05:14 Published in Australia New Zealand by Shauny B

I know that every article by this paper has had something to do with Indonesia, but I, as well as many other Australian's consider them to be the biggest threat to our national security.

The past 24 hours have proved crucial for Indonesia's future. In these 24 hours, Indonesia has left PEACE, has invaded Thailand (so as not to trigger Malaysia's MMPs), and has lost a lot of territory in South Africa to the South Africans. This article will break down some of these event's and look at the future of our closest neighbor and biggest threat.

First, let's look at Indonesia leaving PEACE. As most of you know, Indonesia was one of the founding nations of the PEACE alliance. A full report of the PEACE events can be found here: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/countries-resigning-from-peace-1031944/1/20. Indonesia's leaving of PEACE has severely weakened the Alliance, and no matter what your position, things look bad for PEACE. But, things look worse for Indonesia. They have found themselves at war with EDEN, without an alliance. They will obviously try for peace, as they are in no position to continue the fight.

This key event underlines the weakness within Indonesia. If they have left PEACE to pull out of the war, there are obviously deep issues within the government. This alone could announce her end as an empire, and a world power.

Second, lets fly across a small stretch of sea from Indonesia, to Thailand. Over 36 hours ago, Indonesia declared war on Malaysia. But, instead of attacking her mainland, Indonesia attacked Malay controlled Thailand, making sure that no MMPs were activated. This not only shows that Indonesia is too weak to make a co-ordinated strike, but that she is too weak to attack a smaller, less developed country, and risk the threat of fighting her allies.

This shows the obvious decline in Indonesian strength, as only a few weeks ago, they held territory in Russia, China, South Africa, and Australia. They have lost all territory in Russia and Australia, and China and South Africa are holding on by tender hooks. This Malaysian incursion is supposed to be a demonstration of some military might, but all it has done is show how low Indonesia has sunk.

Let's last look at South Africa. The Indonesians have held South Africa for longer than the map goes back (11th of August). They have now given much of their land back to the South Africans. A good will gesture, some might think, but looking at it laterally, it stops us from invading South Africa, and taking the land ourselves (whether as freedom fighters or conquerors is up to us). This is a defensive measure on the part of Indonesia, to keep some of her empire alive.

So, what does this mean for us? Well, if Indonesia is becoming a power vacuum, as it retreats from its territories, I believe we should step in and help support the local populations. It could take the shape of a military incursion for the good of the people, or the forming of alliances with them. Whether that be in South Africa, or say, New Guinea, the choice is up to us. It is clear that Indonesia is too weak to resist an offensive of any kind, now that it has left PEACE. And with their disgusting war against our Malay friends, we must do what we can to outshine the once bright star of PEACE, and indeed, the eWorld.
