INDEPENDENT VOICES

Day 1,796, 11:01 Published in Ireland Ireland by James Keiller

So, we’re all reeling after the latest brace of eIrish scandals and fear and loathing stalk the land like a giant, fearful, stalking thing. It was ever thus. If you stick around long enough you get used to it. Looking at the whole shambles in another way, you get to see people’s true colours in the end and that’s not an entirely bad thing, I guess.

Something a bit more positive that has been around since before I was eBorn is the great tradition of Independent participation in eIrish politics. Independents have served eIreland with distinction at all levels from President down, and in Governments of every stripe.

Independent Parties, let it be said, have also served as a haven for some of the crankiest, contrariest bastards in the game. But that’s the beauty of being an Independent. You get to carve your own destiny and can make your own judgements based on the facts and not be led astray by a misplaced sense of loyalty, or having painted yourself into an ideological corner, find yourself having to shape the evidence to fit a conclusion you have already reached.

Independent Voices is eIreland’s Independent Party. All are welcome. We would love to see Independents in contention for seats in Congress. Dail Candidates are picked by random selection. That said, I will do my patriotic duty as Party President to veto anyone known to me as a thief, PTOer or general cretin.

TL😉R: Join IV today. That is all.

Yours,
James Keiller
