Dear Dutch,
we are in a difficult situation. our country is occupied by Poland, one of the most powerful nations in the world. sometimes we try to rebel but they are too strong for us.
in my opinion, the only way to achieve independence is to join or create a new strong alliance with other countries that are able to help us.
the government could also make agreements with Poland to get back our regions.
I hope that one day I will see a free and strong netherlands .

joining an alliance would be great, but even then it may take a while before our cause is on their agenda
I can tell you that there have been talks with Poland. I'm not sure I'm allowed to go into details, but let's be clear about one thing: The Polish will ask us to pay rent for our own regions.
That is something I think no government should lightly accept. Especially if that rent is above the congress tax, which is 25 gold/region, which nowadays is only 5000 NLG/region.
Any proposal where we end up paying rent for our own regions should probably be accepted via a referendum, so that we can ensure some stability in the agreement. If a government would act on its own accord, the next one will terminate the agreement, the one after that will renegotiate it again, and so on... We need stability in our foreign policies. The Polish will not like us any better if we keep on changing our minds.
sorry mate, but that's simply not true. The prob is that poland demands 20k upfront for one region. We don't make that kind of money from 1 region, so the only benefit would be having a small Congress, and personally I don't think it's worth that.
I replied on DP btw, and fully agree with Djirtsdew; it's just not worth all that money.
20K is that a one time thing? or a monthly payment? In the first itś an option, in the second it is certainly not

I Agree... poland has created many enemies.. its a matter of creating a common ground to stand on..
As for Paying poland, in my mind, isn't an option.. i would rather spend the $$ on the battlefield..& To ensure long term stability in our regions we are going to need a strong backing in our corner.. In the mean time i think we do everything in our power to become a growing thorn the the polish back side.. We are at war!
Many ppl are thinking CoT will stand up against Two, and I believe they will, eventually. But that can take months, even a year. And let's be honost, CoT is just a lacky of Two. There's a new world alliance coming up; NaN, but I'd feel better in Asgard personally. There's always room for cooperating with other allainces.
Hmm. Look, we all know winter is coming, although it may take longer than people think. Making a NAP with Poland so that we can continue congress and accept CS requests makes sense, on the basis that it won't be forever and we need to stabilise our citizen numbers
The only problem with making a NAP with poland, is that they ask 20k cc for 1 region. I think it would be unwise to pay that kind of money. Further negotiating is also not possible, as they want money first, only then they come back to talk. And remember, we have nothing to negotiate.
