Join the new world

My Fellow Belgians,

It is with great pride that I have been installed as President of Belgium. First, I would like to thank Alpha for following through on his promise and stepping aside as he said he would. I would also like to thank him for donating the 300G to our national bank, as promised. He and I have had a few conversations, and he has agreed to continue to live and work in Belgium to help us grow into a nation envied the world over. I hope everyone will be on the look out for him, and if you see him in the forums or on IRC, please tell him you appreciate his efforts.

The last few weeks have been a very trying time, here and throughout the eWorld. Belgium has been wracked by accusations and threats and general messiness leading up to, and during, the most recent election. Now that the election is over, it is my sincere hope that we can put all those bad emotions behind us and get to the real job of directing Belgium through this migration into V2 and into the future which we are capable of realizing.

I and my Cabinet have already begun to work out what we, as a country, need to do to get through the next several weeks. HuCard, as Minister of Economics and Finance, is working tirelessly to secure inexpensive and plentiful raw materials for our national economy. We have also been able to set a peg on the Money Market to help stabilize things a bit until everyone else gets the new economy figured out. The peg is now set at 1 BEF/0.02 Gold, but will be subject to change as we see what direction the economy is headed in. Please expect a little volatility for the next couple of weeks.

HuCard is also working with our Minister of Defense, JHemelhof to ensure our military is ready to go on the day the war module becomes operational. Towards that end, we have a new form that we would like all Belgian Citizens to fill out. It is located here: http://tinyurl.com/2awjglo. This will enable our MoD and Chief General to ensure we, as a country, are better prepared in case of invasion or other military emergency. I have filled it out, and you can too!

Stilpo, our new Minister of Foreign Affairs, has already revamped the reporting system for Ambassadors and will continue to ensure we reach and maintain relations with all major powers, our neighbors and other countries that wish to keep diplomatic relations with Belgium.

Our next focus will be on the State companies and Home Affairs. Mudduck95 will be looking at what we need to do to ensure our babies have what they need to survive, and how we can integrate our state companies, military companies and raw markets into a cohesive whole, all working for the betterment of Belgium.

In order to promote eBelgian Culture and work towards building our country, Kylero, our Minister of Growth and Culture, will be continuing the "Aldous the Meek" campaign and trying to expand it beyond the borders of Belgium to the great masses of the eWorld. Also, if you have any ideas about how to help us grow, please get in touch with Kylero. He will take a look at every idea that crosses his desk and present it to me for consideration. You may be the key to making our next baby boom a success!

Future articles and updates will be presented by MaryamQ, our Minister of Information. She has a team, Val3rian and Beli Jesen, that will translate all official article so all members of our Country can participate.
