Imperium… or just Imp?

Let me be clear from the start: I am pro-eGermany. I am pro-CoT.

It is common in eRepublik for the eUSA to try and make a new alliance. Many eUSA Presidents and Ministers of Foreign Affairs believe they are real life diplomats and real life President Obamas. They forget that there is no need to make a new alliance every month. To borrow an English-language phrase, if it is not broken, do not try to fix it. CoT is not broken. It has some flaws, but it is only the eUSA and Chile who claim it is broken. Surely, it does not have enough damage to beat TWO, but eUSA and Chile should spend their time convincing Croatia and Brazil to join CoT.

By now, you have seen the leaked Imperium charter. Obviously, USA President Paul Proteus and Minister Derphoof think they can convince Spain and Poland to join (and even Hungary maybe?). Problem! EUSA is not even listed on its own charter!

Imperium will probably fail, because Spain will not join, Poland will not join, Hungary will not join…. And then, what is your purpose?

All that the eUSA has done is make the rest of CoT upset while the world facepalms.

Here in eGermany, I am facepalming. It is not Imperium, just dreams of imps… Stay in CoT, stop whining, and make it better.

They can use the media to which they have easy access to publish and publicize the game, and that could get many referrals.

An example could be virtual newspapers or websites with huge amounts of daily visits as You tube among others. 🙂

Yeah, and there's also a play on the "national feelings". Like, "Our country has been conqured by ... We need your help to liberate it..." Many countries got their BBs that way.

I would also like to point out a statement made by the eCroatian MoFA regarding the rather unsuccessful formation of the Imperium : http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/imperium-po-etak-i-kraj--2293731/1/20
Basically, what I can gather from this article is that eCroatia probably played the most important role here; they were the ones who did most of the negotiating. And also, according to MoFA, all of the proposed countries reacted surprisingly well to the idea of a new alliance, even the TWO countries.So after the Charter was created, a congress voting was to take place in the proposed member countries regarding the alliance. However, suddenly eHungary states that it cannot leave eSerbia, and without them the Charter becomes invalid, causing eSpain and ePoland to drop out as well. This was a big surprise for eCroatia, whose congress has already approved of the new alliance and eCroatian MoFA even states that at first he thought this was a joke, because the initial negotiations with eHungary were going so well. Anyways, the alliance wasn't formed but the idea still remaines and eCroatian MoFA states, and I quote : "We'll continue the negotiations about the new alliance, but this time more slowly and detailedly, because we don't have to hurry anymore. As for TWO, TWO will fall apart sooner or later. Contacts have been made, idea's been created, something will happen..."

That is exactly the point. eUS was not even in the founding members. Chile has been some moment there, but they also backed-off. Apparently there was a deal that Imperium exist without killing CoT! Would have been nice to see "game" again...

That is true. It is debatable whether Hungary was ever seriously interested in Imperium, but I don't think Spain and Poland were ever going to join without Hungary. This is not the first time the USA got all excited about a new alliance trying to pull Spain and Poland away from Serbia (see CTRL).
