Imperial Sun Party Supports Dokomo for Country President
The following votes were cast in the ISP presidential support [vote]:
Dokomo 10
Lauri Mursu 4
Hashimoto 1
I hope that future votes and discussion will include even more participation from our party members!
eJapanese eagerly support their candidates!
The support for Dokomo or any presidential candidate indicates the trust of the party and its members. It is my hope as party president that Dokomo will faithfully carry out the duties of the office with eJapan foremost on the list of priorities. Some critics of President Oraizan have cited disappointment with foreign policy, in particular our relationship with PEACE GC. If elected, the Imperial Sun Party hopes that Dokomo and his cabinet appointees will make progress on eJapan's diplomatic standing and further strengthen our position within PEACE GC, so that we can help guide that organization back to its original principles. Hopefully organizations like Sol can be convinced of the Righteous Nation philosophy that drives our nation and begin to act accordingly.
As in the West, eJapanese politicans indicate remorse by seeing how far their bottom lip can go to touch their nose
In the previous election, the Imperial Sun Party did not support Dokomo, citing concerns with irregularities and lack of transparency within the party he leads. Indeed, former Godzilla party members now serve in all the major parties except the National Alliance Party (NAP)--plzdaddynooo is the congressional election organizer for the Tequila Fitness Club (TFC), Dizzy Darling is a TFC member of congress from Kanto, and Millie Angelfire is a member of congress from the ISP. Even the small Ronin party has a former Godzilla party member: Lejina is party president of the Ronin, a position she leaves to run for congress on the Godzilla ticket during congressional elections.
Things an eJapanese politician should not do
Should it matter that these were all former members? After all, everyone should be allowed to have a fresh start, shouldn't they? Well, I doubt it was no1kevlin's charisma, aggressive recruiting through private messages (although reportedly no recruiting messages were sent to Godzilla party members....) or even the weapons giveaway that boosted the TFC's numbers so highly. I certainly doubt it was my lame article pictures or Reiji Mitsurugi's eloquence (forgive me, Reiji!) that brought Millie Angelfire, Loftish, or Erumaron over to the ISP. And while I love free hugs, I don't think that is why Dizzy Darling ran for congress on the ULJ ticket. Moving voters between parties is bad form. My point is, regardless of current in-game party affiliation, true loyalty lies with established relationships and trust. It is a well-known fact that many of the Godzillas are former eNorth Koreans. One of them, Ranger Nietzsche, a former member of the eJapanese miliitary, even decided to go back to go back to eNorth Korea without even bothering to post a resignation letter. Throughout my term as Minister of Defense, people have asked me, "Should we really be giving taxpayer-funded weapons to those guys? They're just going to eventually leave anyway..." The list goes on.
Probably just a misunderstanding, guys. KITA Ikki got you those weapons you wanted, right?
The same people probably now ask, "Why should we give the keys to power to the Godzillas, despite all these doubts?" I personally hope that, if elected, Dokomo will run as reform president: Improving eJapan's somewhat troubled relations with PEACE and making them more transparent to us, cleaning up the Godzilla Party's rather undemocratic activities, and of course building up eJapan's military so that we can contribute more to our friends and allies. To those who say this is the final act in an "anti-PEACE revenge PTO" that started when eRussia crushed eNorth Korea three months ago, I tell you that Dokomo is NOT Drago, there is no place for a City Party in eJapan. They don't need the dirty tricks; if Dokomo wins, it is because of good ideas. I expect that eJapan under a Dokomo administration will be more capable of contributing to PEACE's defensive operations--the real purpose of our membership in that alliance--than ever before due to his commitment to a stronger military.

Imperial Sun Party President

Hashimoto: 1
It was a closed election, so who casted that vote for Hashimoto only the Imperial Sun Party will know.
In any case, I am proud of the Party's decision and look forward to the Dokomo Administration!
Hail the Imperial Sun Party, hail the Emperor and hail the next president of the Great Japanese Empire, Dokomo!
Those of us (former North Koreans) who are going back, have already gone back. It's a shame that Ranger left without saying anything, but I think you'll find that those of us who are remaining show significant dedication to eJapan.
I look forward to voting Dokomo and continuing to be a part of the ISP.
I didn't even need to know, that ISP supports Dokomo. I support him by heart. He's got my vote!
If you are referring to the City Party (now known as "Macedonian Phalanx Party") tactics, they likely relied on the use of spreadsheets to coordinate voters to vote for "least vote received" candidates rather than encouraging voters to vote for whoever they thought was best, in order to keep all their candidates at the same or near equal vote total or higher, crowding out candidates from other parties Now that eNorth Korea is back up, you can sort of see what I mean here: http://www.erepublik.com/en/elections/country-73-election-congress-0-date-2009-06-region-672" target="_blank">http://www.erepublik.com/en/elections/co[..]n-672 (in many regions, all City Party candidates had EXACTLY the same number of votes, as someone pointed out in a thread a long time ago).
To be fair, ALL parties that have a chance of doing well in Congressional elections do this in eRepublik, from huge countries like the eUSA down to one region countries. Realistically, is nation with maybe 400 citizens able to field 40 active congressmen? Of course not.
But more concerning is the movement of voters to and from other parties with the intent of altering top five party ranking. This is undemocratic (and therefore a "dirty tactic" to someone like me who supports a free exchange of ideas in a democratic setting) as it does not matter how good or bad one party's ideas are, if a large number of voters move to another party to bump them out, they are denied their chance to run for congress.
To be sure, these are small issues, but worth mentioning. Would the TFC have made top five without Godzilla help? Probably. But no1kevlin probably had a reason why he did not send recruitment messages to the Godzilla membership.
And for the record, I think Crawling Chaos is right--the Godzillas are here to stay and I think they will continue to greatly contribute to eJapan.
I sent recuitment messages to all parties including Godzilla Party members. This is the umpteenth time you've brought this up and i resent the implications you are making.
I ask that you delete the unfounded accusations as you and i know they break erep rules.
There are no implications in the article, but there are explicit statements that indicate voters were moved. There is nothing in the game mechanics or eRep rules that stop you or anyone else from doing that, and there's nothing in the eRep rules against mentioning it. As I indicated in my previous comment, it seems unseemly, like the act of "PTOers," an accusation that will surely be leveled against Dokomo by some international elites should he win the election, and an accusation I would like to dispel. It helps if there is no "funny business" in the background that opponents could point at to support their erroneous claims.
I think the TFC would have made the comeback without the aggressive recruiting tactics because of the public popularity of the Q5 DS in Kyushu, as well as some older members (Seixo, Origineel, etc.) making a comeback too. So why risk the reputation of eJapan that our top parties would do such things?
Thoughtful. We shall see where the waves takes us. Only then will we know in which direction to row.
Who knows what drives ambition?
apparently the people have chosen to put their hopes on dokomo's shoulders.
let's see if he can carry such a burden
Good article overall, just a couple things I think need clarification:
1. TFC/no1kevlin did indeed send recruitment stuff to Godzilla members. He even sent me one and he knows full well that I'm part of the Godzilla leadership.
2. We (rea😛 ex-eNK who chose to stay in Japan even though eNK is more or less back) are in a no-win situation when it comes to political parties. We all moved to Godzilla at first, and long-time eJapan people tell us that we look like some sort of monolithic PTO party and that they'd feel more comfortable if we integrated more into other parties. I was strongly against this, but we did it anyway by having Lejina make the Ronin party along with having a number of people join just about every party except NAP and SOS. Now we are criticized for doing exactly what was asked of us, even though we didn't even really want to do it in the first place.
3. Regarding moving people between parties. TFC and Godzilla are separate entities. I consider no1kevlin to be an ally, but at the same time I am more comfortable with him not speaking directly for Godzilla party so I'm glad the TFC thing is working out for him. Our only part in the party hopping stuff was to support ULJ when it became clear that a party was leaving the top 5 to make room for TFC's return.
Finally, thanks for the endorsement, ISP. Dokomo, myself, and the rest of the cabinet will do our best to continue improving eJapan for all its citizens.
I will acknowledge that I told party members to leave Godzilla to join ULJ to prevent them from being knocked out of Top 5. Godzilla does not abandon it's allies.
Btw, to shuffle the parties around in and out of the top5 doesn't keep anyone from running for congress. Pretty much all the top5 parties have openly stated members of non top5 parties are welcome to run in their party and this has been happening regularly with each elections. Heck, I'm the party president of a non top5 party myself and I made it in congress every month since I moved in eJapan.
There is a "king of the hill" effect when you are part of such a large organization, move to a "small pond" like eJapan and are instantly the number one power in the country due to your numbers: people immediately identify you as outsiders and that probably never goes away.
* One of the biggest criticisms of Japan by the Godzillas was that eJapan was dominated by "the old guard," (don't know who coined that term, but I remember it used a lot) the eJapanese political scene before the Godzillas arrived, was that all the "parties had leadership that were friends." And it was true, NAP, ISP, Orange Party, KMT were quite friendly with each other. It was a quieter time in eJapan, but not necessarily good for eJapan. I think it would be unfortunate if the "old guard" was simply replaced by a new one (Godzilla, TFC, Ronin, etc...).
The point of the criticism was/is to make sure that Dokomo dots his 'i's and crosses his 't's, so to speak. Although not very active at that level, I understand that international politics is very clique-y, and in the event of a Dokomo presidency, the are some who will try to use every excuse to marginalize him (like "he wasn't really elected by the public anyway") and his election.
@ Vorph Also, I received recruitment messages, too. I don't really doubt that everyone received messages, but that the real intent was to recruit from other parties. The real Godzillas would not jump for something like "free stuff" to join a new party. 🙂
fair criticism, hope dokomo can lead us well! he has my vote.
Good luck, Dokomo!
I remember that election in North Korea! It was my first time running for congress. I got one pathetic vote, my own. I guess I did not make the City Party cut. Anyway, I want to go back to Korea soon, maybe even start a company, but I would like to do so with some guarantees that the government won't do something stupid like attack Russia again. Hopefully Dokomo isn't thinking about doing something stupid like that with Japan too.
Hashimoto insists on running every time and always gets a single vote from himself 😃
Geno Garon!
Good luck Dokomo!
"but I would like to do so with some guarantees that the government won't do something stupid like attack Russia again"
Safety is not guaranteed.
Good luck Dokomo. Hopefully you won't maintain the lame duck status quo around here.
I was never in GP!
For those who laugh at my one vote, I still want to remind you that Geno Garon received no votes.
Important is participation.
Well we all know its your own vote anyways, not like that changes much, lol.
