Poland
Current national goals:
On day 896 own control of the following regions:
* California
* Florida
* Karnataka

That makes me think...war with Poland...hmmm. What happened? How did we get to this point? Bad leadership maybe, egos the size of mountains perhaps. Regardless of how we got here the point is now that we are facing this situation what do we do? How do we react, what steps can we take to A: prevent such a pointless war and B: should war be inevitable, preserve American sovereignty. The first and most important goal we need to have is to use and reuse every possible diplomatic venue in effort to keep this war from happening. We need the best most clear headed diplomats in the front lines trying to diffuse this potentially catastrophic war. Its no secret that Poland is a huge country in terms of population, they easily outnumber us 2 to 1 but when I say catastrophic I don't mean just for America but also for Poland, EDEN, and Brolliance.

Without a doubt neither America nor Poland will come out of this war on top, Phoenix has capable leaders and will without hesitation take full advantage of this war. If this war takes place at the end of it all it wont be USA FTW or Hail Poland that will be shouted from the mountain tops its going to be Phoenix/HungaryMAXXX. Rather Poland goes solo in this war or invades with EDEN and or Phoenix assistance I guarantee that such a conflict will be the break Phoenix needs to solidify their rule on current holdings and gain an infinite more. To think otherwise is foolish, to believe otherwise is exactly what phoenix needs you to believe.

Diplomacy

Even if we try our very best to avoid this conflict its possible our efforts will be in vain. After all its up to a few man if and when this war will commence and all the diplomacy in the world can easily be ignored. So we tried our best and failed, what then? To the last man! many will say but simply saying so does not prepare a nation for war. With numbers stacked against us it will literally take every single US/Brolliance citizen to hold our defenses. The next step is clear, a complete and nation wide draft of every active citizen. Impossible? not quite, the government has at its disposal enough information to complete such a task. Things like all citizens at every different military rank, every new citizen below level 6 etc. It might take a thousand man hours to do so and plenty of patience but it can be done. Maybe not EVERY citizen can be drafted but drafting the most possible is a great way to be prepared. Simply passing out weapons to those who are aware of weapon handouts before a battle will not suffice, specific orders and weapon delivery if necessary might very well be what it will take to persevere. Costs both in time and gold will go through the roof but no price is too high for freedom.

Ever heard the phrase "together we make a difference" well its true and being prepared for conflict needs to happen not just at the government level but on a personal level as well. Hoard your gold my friends, don't spend a dime over what you absolutely need to survive. Forget about advertising, forget wasteful spending throw it all under your eMattress and don't touch it till the time comes. A friend of mine once said that new players would greatly benefit from immersing themselves into news, that may be true during peace but in times of war the level of fake orders, trooling and misleading articles can confuse even a somewhat experienced player. Following official DoD orders and thus fighting smart goes without saying is absolutely essential to our personal and national survival. Above all have faith and courage, Poland may be a big threat but the last time I checked we beat Russia, Indonesia and Hungary all together. There is nothing we cant do, numbers only go so far, commitment, faith in ourselves and brotherhood is at the end of it all the deciding factor.

United this country this alliance is more then just a force to be reckoned with its an Immovable Object.

Editor's Corner - Not Able to Walk the Walk
One of the quickest ways a leader can lose respect of the team is if they feel the leader has high expectations of them that the leader does not hold for him or herself. To the contrary, if the leader shows the team that they can go out on the front lines and get their hands dirty, the team will have high respect. Depending on the role, every leader should expect to spend a few hours a week doing the job of the front line. Clearly a CEO of a F500 company has much more to do than work in a store, connect bolts in a machine shop or cold call with a sales person. But a few hours a week would be as valuable as any boardroom meeting. A front line manager, on the other hand, might spend as much as 75% of their time doing the job of their team - with their team.

In addition to gaining high respect from the team, the leader will also gather valuable information when working side by side. A sales rep can tell you that they cold call every day, but if you are cold calling with them, you'll know within a few minutes of they really do. You'll see if they are polished and confident, or rusty and nervous. You'll see where they waste time through disorganization and where they are efficient. You'll see best practices that can be shared among the team and you'll quickly spot a cancer that needs to be cut. The few hours a week in the field will save you weeks and sometimes months of trying to figure out why something isn't working.

Often times, leaders have to give bad news to their teams. They might have to tell them team that they need to put in more time, work a little harder or raise their quotas. The leader may have to go back to the team to let them know they have to change course and all the work done in the last several months is scrapped. Trust is earned when the leader has built relationships working side-by-side with their teams. This gives the leader a bank from which they can withdraw when they need to give bad news yet keep momentum building, morale high and the team focused. If the teams trusts and respects their leader, they'll move forward even during tough times.
