IA: Getting to know...NeilP99

Day 830, 10:02 Published in South Africa South Africa by Independent Alternative

Today's interview is with NeilP99. He is ranked second in eSouth Africa and has been around longer than most of us! He is an intelligent guy that doesn't get involved with all the bickering that goes on around him. He just stays cool, calm and collected.

So let's jump straight in and get to the bio stuff:

Birth date: 19 September 2008
Best skill: Manufacturing (11.36)
Level: 21
Friends: 436
Military rank: Field Marshal
Medals: 13x hard worker, 7x congress, 4x super soldier

And here are the questions I asked Neil:

Do you have a hero or role model in eRepublik - if so, who is that and why?

My hero in eRepublik would have to have been Ananias. He was one of my nearest and dearest friends back in the eUS. He quit a while back, but he always worked hard and avoided bickering with people over little things.

What's your next big goal?

I just ran for Congress again in South Africa. Other than that I don't really have any huge goals right now, though I would still like to get a Media Mogul award someday.

How much time do you spend on eRepublik a day?

I usually spend a couple hours a day on eRepublik. I browse the news in South Africa, visit the forum, and check up on my old friends at the UIP, my former American party.

How did you start playing eRepublik?

To be honest I don't really remember. It was back in Beta, and I think I had seen an ad for the game on another site. It looked interesting so I signed up and waited to be approved. In those days you had to get accepted into the Beta test before you could play.

How many people do you know in real life who plays eRepublik?

Actually I don't know anyone in real life who plays eRepublik. I've traded phone numbers with a few people who I've gotten close to in the game, but I've never actually met any of them face to face.

How long have you been part of the Independent Alternative?

I've been in IA for about 2 months now.

What made you join the Independent Alternative?

I've always valued my independence. I never wanted to be part of a party that had a set position on the issues that I would feel obligated to support, so a party that highlights everyone making their own choices was exactly what I wanted. Plus, I've met more than a few cool people in South Africa, and a lot of them are in IA.

What in-game aspects would you say you're good at (e.g. politics, economics, media, networking and so on)?

Politics and Media have always been my strong suits. I own a couple of companies, but I don't make nearly as large of profits as many people. But I have been able to get elected to office a lot (I've only lost once or twice ever) and I think there are a lot of people who like my writing.

What has been a highlight so far in your e-life?

I don't know what my personal highlight has been in my eLife, but I think a lot of people remember me for my eWorld Tour articles. I've done that series twice now, and people seem to enjoy the articles showing them different parts of the eWorld. They're fun to do too, so for now I guess that has been the highlight.

That concludes my interview with NeilP99. He will still go far in eSouth African politics due to his cool, calm nature (really lives up to his avatar!).

Look out for the next edition of "Getting to know..."

Best regards
