I See What You Did There

1 GOLD = 1065 CAD

Why Yes eRepublik I AM really impressed.

You can't say that it is not a good thing. Used to be that with an average skill salary I was able to buy 0,5 – 0,75 gold. Medals were just a decoration because It took a month to get one, and the 5 gold that I got with them were nothing special. But now, doesn't the offer look just awesome?

We need to ask ourselves a question:
"What to think about this new upgrades?"

My opinion is both good and bad.

Why?

Why BAD?

Simply, with the arrival of the "upgrades" the game has became really boring and not much of a challenge to us. Chaos and loss of need for other players is here also. I mean, why would I buy food from market from someone else, when I got a whole food industry at my virtual back yard. Also why would I hire people whom I need to pay when I can work by myself for a cost of 10 health which I easily replace. Perpetum Mobile is the name. Every day I work in all of my factories, I train, and I fight until I can't replace any more health and i still have raw materials and food left untouched in my storage. Now you tell me, is there sense in this? - No? - Well, what's the point then?

Why GOOD then?

Obviously, what my first line in the article(1 GOLD = 1065 CAD) meant to say that now it is not easy to become an owner of 1 gold or more bought with in-game currency. Nobody is buying anything from the market because they have it already. So nobody spends, nobody earns. Monetary values skyrockets and ofcoruse you depend on your 5 gold medals to earn some gold, or you can buy it with e-banking, calls and SMS. Real money now steps in. Well why not? Gold is made to be bought with real money so that the developers can earn something for their work. That is fer, right? But when it comes to a way in which it is implemented in the game. Surely there was another way to acomplish that same effect. There was no need for chaos and an economic disaster, really there wasn't.
