Hurricane protection and help

Day 1,806, 06:42 Published in USA USA by Sgt. Flatt

Hello and welcome

I'm sorry for not being able to address those who need their free stuff, or the raffle winners, I will do that as soon as possible.

So lately I've been having to do paper work and take care of my concussed younger brother. Do not worry he will be ok this is his third concussion in two years. Texas high school football can be rough, Trust me I experienced it first hand. But were not going to keep on that subject.

To everyone effected by hurricane Sandy
I give my prayers out to you. I know how hurricanes feel, I hail from Houston, I've felt the first hand effects and the second hand effects( the Louisianans from Katrina came to Houston). Now I'm feeling it third hand. The most dangerous thing about Northern hurricanes is that up north you have cities basically stacked on each other. In the south it can be almost 100 to 200 miles till the next medium sized town. But again my prayers go out to you, if you are in the storm or just were please leave the experience below. Here are some tips after a hurricane!
If your power goes out
-Electricity
Do not, turn on your lights or anything until told to. So remember to turn off your lights before the storm. Wait for your stupid neighbor to turn the lights on if you are desperate.
-Gas powered home
Never! Do not! Turn on anything until instructed! You could have a gas leak! Do not turn anything on!
-Toilets
You know that little box filled with water behind your bowl. Well if the water gets shut off your going to have a bad time. Get buckets full of water and refill it when needed.
- If you run out of food.
You will probably have a neighbor that spent a thousand dollars more than they needed on food, check around
- medical emergences
See if you have and doctors in the neighborhood.
-Thugs
Carry a gun you might need it.
- Hurricane boards
Don't take down the hurricane boards until you give your window an inspection from the inside! If the window is broken don't take the board down.
-Kids
little kids won't understand what's happening. Its best to explain exactly what's happening to them so they don't mess up!
Thanks and stay safe
