Latest Newb Tutorial: Media Mogul Medal





Hey there new Citizen of eRepublik!

How great that you’ve popped in. What brought you? Was it the desire to play a scintilating game of political and economic strategy with “over 5 million” other gamers? Perhaps it was the promise of becoming a military hero on the battlefield? Maybe you were invited by a close friend who always seems to be totally absorbed with clicking his mouse over and over and over and over again that you simply HAD to know why…

Or maybe you desire to be a Media Mogul.



If this last reason is your primary reason, I have great news for you. This article contains all the information you need to earn your first Media Mogul medal, score that juicy 5 Gold prize!, and distinguish yourself as a master of this complex “new” world we call eRepublik.

First, write an article introducing yourself. Claim to be a “fresh off the street” citizen who has never played this game before and who just coincidentally understands the finer points of leveling up and eRep market economics. Bonus points if you pretend to know NOTHING ABOUT whatever ‘eRep Stuff++’ is.

For your second article, begin a series on how awful Plato and this game are. This is important, because these are the only kinds of articles that get reshouted, voted, endorsed, and ultimately subscribed. Consider a harangue over “pay to win” at some point, and as soon as you publish that article be sure to employ one of the vote and subscription buying services so that your article really gets noticed.

It won’t take long before you cross the subscriber threshold into triple figures. Of course 1,000 subs takes a little longer since there aren’t actually 1,000 people playing this game any more, but don’t let that stop you. Keep at it.

When you’ve hit 500 subscribers, it’s time to switch strategies and begin publishing exclusively photographs of nearly naked, oiled, buxom 18 year olds who are conveniently allowing the photographer a peak at the portion of their underwear that is between their two well-separated upper thighs. A little “Camel toe” is usually good for an extra boost into the top 5 news feed. I myself cannot help you search out such images, I've got no idea where to even begin looking.

That should get you near the 950 subscription level which puts you into the final stretch. Beg a bunch of citizens who seem to have an active friends list to shout: “Only 50 Subs left for MM” with a link to your paper. You shouldn’t even need to actually publish anything at this point.
