Day 943, 09:55 Published in Singapore Singapore by Assiel
Preface: This message is published on behalf of the President of eSingapore.

Fellow eSingaporeans, friends and all,

As many of you may be aware, reform of the Military is something which has been intended, even before the start of the current Presidency. After much planning, the President has unveiled the basic organisation structure, and the corresponding list of military deployment. You may see it here: http://esingapore.50.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?f=31&p=5971#p5971. It has been duplicated for your ease of reference:

Here's a flowchart to better explain the new structure:

correct as at 21 Jun 2010

The new structure has three definitive attributes:

Focus on Strength

The new military structure focuses on strength, and is therefore meritorious. The more time you have spent training with Lana, the higher your strength. This makes it more transparent, and easier for recruits to predict where they're in. Thus, based on this attribute, the military is split into three groups - those with > 15 strength (Strength Group 1), less than or equal to 15 strength but greater than 10 strength (Strength Group 2), and less than or equal to 10 strength (Strength Group 3). This leads us into the next section.

Streamlined Military - Only 2 core platoons

The military is now centralised with only one core group - Homeguard. Homeguard will be further split into two core platoons - Mobile Corps and Operatives.

The Mobile Corps will consist of those in Strength Group 1, while the Operatives will consist of those with Strength Groups 2 and 3. Further, the Operatives will split into two squads, consisting of each Strength Group.

Reducing the number of platoons will aid in overall management and also cut down on the number of heads/ platoon leaders needed to manage each platoon.

There is one last platoon - the Reserves. Basically, those who are inactive or about to die will be placed here. For those who are acquainted with military terms, it's basically a holding list.

Deployment opportunities for all

Lastly, there will be deployment opportunities for all, though the focus is on those in the Mobile Corp. This will spur citizens to train, and increase their strength.

All military personnel are recommended to get an account on the forums: http://esingapore.50.forumer.com/ This is especially so for those in Mobile Corps. Orders and other relevant information will be posted there.

Thank you for your attention, and should you have any queries, do not hesitate to PM the President.

Thank you and regards.

Msg from Assiel - As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the Armed Forces, we've got a new enlistment form! You can view it here: https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?hl=en&formkey=dElrczBtbDVMTjVvRDdOeDM4dy1na1E6MQ#gid=1. Everyone (including those who are already in the military) should fill it up as we need your RL time-zone and e-mails 🙂 The old form will be disabled shortly
