Holidays, Elections, EDEN, and War in Asia

Day 759, 11:05 Published in USA USA by Tyler Bubblar

Dear fellow citizens of the eUSA, and of course people of Louisiana,

The holiday season is upon us. I would like to wish you all happy times with family, friends, and all loved ones. May all your wishes come true in this most special time of year. December has always been one of my favorite months. I have fond childhood memories of making snowmen, going sledding, and of course waiting in breathless anticipation for Christmas morning. I remember at 5 years of age desperately trying to wake my parents up to tell them santa had come in the night. I also remember thinking how slow the process of taking pictures of each and every gift was. Great times and great memories. Unfortunately, the monthly cycle of election and campaigning in eRepublik does not stop, election day is creeping up on us once more.

The last two months I have had the privilege of holding a seat on behalf of Louisiana in the halls of eCongress. I have decided to run for a 3rd term. The last two terms have been a very rewarding experience for me. I have learned a great deal from the dedicated, hard working, and selfless fellow servants of the eUS that can be found in Congress. I have taken part in some very important votes - chief among them the vote to join EDEN. I would like to go into further details into the two most important votes of this last term: EDEN and war with Japan. Most if not all of the members of the Senate wrote an article in their papers to discuss their vote to join EDEN. My article can be found here:http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/eden-one-senator-s-opinion-1057843/1/20 . The issue of joining EDEN was not an easy decision for anyone. The numbers make it look like it was. The Proposal passed with a very large majority vote: 42 for, 5 Abstains, and 4 against. On paper this large majority vote would, in this case, falsely give the impression that this was an easy, simple decision.

I suspect that many of the members of congress cast their vote of yes in a similar state of mind to my own. It was a yes with very strong misgivings. The existence we lead before the invitation to join EDEN was rather ideal: We had the Brolliance, we were free to make decisions based solely upon the best interest of the eUSA, but we also enjoyed a very close association with EDEN. The idea of giving up our autonomy, and (being member of the Budget and Finance committee) potentially being subjected to additional fees upon joining EDEN was not an easy pill to swallow. However I felt the pros (slightly) outweighed the cons. Looking back now it is safe to say little in the eUS has changed since joining EDEN. If you would like to take a look at the debate about joining EDEN go here: http://eusforum.com/index.php/topic,15227.0.html .

The second important topic was the declaration of war on Japan. Since the end of the North America campaign many around the eWorld have been wondering what direction the eUS would take. My personal vision for the eUS is similar to what I would like the RL USA to be: a righter of wrongs, a protector of the weak and oppressed, and to some extent a punisher of the guilty. In short a beacon of hope and safety to the entire world. The attack on Kyushu was viewed by many as an act of aggression and imperialism on the part of the USA. In reality we are merely trying to go west to help the eChinese and the people of eIndia. The former nations of the corrupt defunct alliance of PEACE are still out there, they simply have shed their sheep's clothing. Russia, Hungary, Indonesia, Serbia, and Iran no longer even try to maintain the fiction that they are a defensive alliance. They have dumped their former weaker allies and now have no compunctions about preying on their former friends. Make no mistake Phoenix will be a far more troublesome force than PEACE ever was, if they are allowed to go on unchecked.

It is my strong belief that we the eUS must be at the forefront of the forces fighting PHOENIX. The same colonies of high resource regions that PEACE used to fuel their invasions and oppressions of their neighbors are in the hands of PHOENIX. Freeing Asia from the bullies of the new label is an important and necessary step in making the world a safer place. It is my hope to see the eUS become that force of light and justice I discussed earlier. As long as I am in Congress I will continue to fight for that America. All that being said I would like to finish my platform.

My position is simple. I have two terms of experience under my belt in representing the interest of Louisiana in Congress. I have done my best to learn and fight for the issues I feel are important. I would like the opportunity to do so for a third term. These next few months will be very important ones. We are commencing with the dismantling of the Asian power base PEACE/Phoenix has used to crush much of the world beneath their boots. In times of such action and change an experienced steady hand to guide events is very important. I feel that I have and will continue to provide that. That being said remember this: Don't be a noob! Vote For a Buub!! Please Vote Tyler Buublar!!!

Update: With Japan retreating Kyushu, and our subsequent attack on Indonesia, it is safe to say the process of dismantling PEACE/PHOENIX is underway. I would urge the citizens of the eUS to trust the government. PHOENIX trolls no doubt will begin to cry Imperialism in our media. That simply is not the case. Damage diverted to the wrong place or even withheld from an offensive campaign can cost us dearly. We lost the first battle of Kyushu by a very slim margin, and I know there were a few eMericans that felt our attack was an aggressive act of Imperialism. In reality, North Korea, China, and India have asked for our help. We here in the eUSA needed outside help to drive invaders out of our lands. Now that we have regained our sovereignty, common decency demands that we lend our strength and resources to the struggles of other nations. These people are under the very same boots that we here once were. Let us answer the call of President Jewitt and EDEN. War has come to Asia, the United States of America must stand and be counted.

God Bless America

And in closing time for some more gratuitious Skanky Santa girls:
