History of the eFinlands legal system part 1

Day 948, 04:03 Published in Finland Denmark by Zacharia Raven

Today I start to write in English about what is going on behind the scenes in Finland. My focus will be judicial and legal system, into which I have personally distributed. This week I'll briefly tell you, what has been done, and where are we heading to with the legal system.

The birth of the judicial system.

Finland took it's first steps with the legal system by going from one-man sentences to court-based system. Forming the court was a small groups activity. Probably the most active in that group was ClausMarvin. As you can see, he is no longer with us.

Marvin was not alone, however, Eventhough he was the most active Finn to present actual laws and in forming the court, there were citizens like Okkius Pyromanius who gave tremendeous amounts of time and effort for the system.

Forming the base for legal system was done at Finlands external forum. As you can imagine, it was all in finnish, so quoting those discussions is pretty much useless to English readers. If you happen to understand our rare language, you can still, after signing in, go and see the process.

The first discussion at the congress's area about legal system, Okkius

Here Okkius has written down the basic form of the court-based system that eFinland (at least when writing this article) has. This discussion defined how the process goes in court: how does one sue somebody, how the summons is handled, how much time do the defendant and the claimant have to give their appeals and so forth.

Okkius listed also the people of the court: the judge , the jury, prosecutor-general and so on. Okkius hoped that the court would be in close relationship with the admins of the forum. He also noted that the actual terms of the officials should not be taken too seriously when comparing their tasks with their IRL counterparts.

Marvin's discussion about starting the system

Here Marvin suggested that the system Okkius had created would be started by choosing the members of the court, In the end the congress chose the jury. They decided that the jury members should be picked randomly in every case.

Later on community started to create laws that ensure effectiveness of the court, Before the judicial system eFinland used to trust that either congress or a Chancellor of Justice could make sufficient decisions. This was, however, impossible due to political involment in rulings.

As stated before, Marvin was one of the most active builder of the system. He presented the congress with several laws, that came to be.

Next week I'll continue with the history by going trough the process of how the constitution of eFinland went. Untill then,

Have a nice weekend, and enjoy the summer.
