Hi Malaysia - introductions...
Ranger Bob
Hi
For those who don't know me, I am Ranger Bob (ranger) and I have recently decided to move from eAustralia and become a citizen of your fine country.
I was born in March 2009, and have been a very committed member of eRepublik, almost to the point of _being_ committed I think given some of the late nights I have spent on IRC.
I have been a long-time supporter of eMalaysia as a country - working with many of your fine presidents in the past, especially nagyzee who was your CP when I was also eAustralia's CP in August, and when sol really came into it's own.
I've left eAustralia as I worry about the direction she is taking - and wish to stand strong with a nation that appears to be cohesive and keeps to her core values of democracy and fairness - as I kinda perceive you do.
Anyway, for now, I am going to read up and observe how things run - maybe asking a question or two if that's ok. I've also applied to join and help in your Military, and if you have any questions of me, feel free to post them.
Again, thanks for taking me in and I hope to meet many of you on the #erepublik.my channel on IRC
🙂

@Carr deVaux - Uhhh... That's kind of not true. I'm kind of an Aussie at heart. I base my businesses out of eAustralia. But I'm not really an Australian. My brief attempt at entering the Aussie community met with cricket noise. I think I voted in an Australian election once. I wasn't a Australian citizen for more than a couple of months.
But yes, I know who Ranger Bob is. I know who everyone in Australian politics are even if I don't participate in it. Carr deVaux isn't the only person to follow international politics because politics are home are so boring. Lemme see now... Ranger's prime ministership... drawing a big blank on that. As I recall it, Ranger's term as Prime Minister was marked by apparent inactivity and pissing himself when it came to getting Australian regions back from Indonesia.
No, wait, sorry, I think that was Aussie Vegeta whose Prime Ministership was marked by apparent inactivity. Those two seem to blend together as having the same sort of style of leadership; the don't rock the boat kind.
Still, not so bad as SetsunaX by far. He's my president and he doesn't even have a newspaper that I'm aware of. At least Ranger Bob and Aussie Vegeta had papers and used them to communicate to the people. Cerri's no different than SetsunaX. She's got a lot of friends on IRC. But when you look for a record of their activities in the Media and the Forums, you find a whole lot of nothing. Both are presidents who if they do anything, like to do it in smoke-filled IRC chatrooms away from the prying eyes of the general public. Which brings to mind the one good thing Ranger Bob and Aussie Vegeta did as CP of Australia, they brought about transparency in government. People can see what's on the minds of their politicians by reading the Media and the Forums.
LOL
I achieved a lot domestically - including increasing our military through "Boot Camp", structuring our military on a model whereby they received a stream of weapons, and set up schemes which still run there now..
I also helped through sending our troops to help Malaysia and Thai with their decision to merge, through ensuring RWs brought about by some destablilising folks did not pass.
Oh, and I helped set the first formal WG schedule on the Sol forums.
AV went inactive for personal reasons about a week into his term, and srg91 and I assisted the then dPM, corny-ratbag, in running the nation.
Sure, I was an advocate of pursuing a diplomatic solution to the issue of WA - I did not want to see eAustralia used on EITHER side - opposed to actually letting them set their own course through an open referendum with the people.
But - that's the past now.
😛
@Ranger Bob - Oh yeah, now I remember. It was you who re-wrote the Military and Funding Structure for the eAustralian military. And you had to rush it through the Senate to get it to pass while you were still PM. And you made the one mistake of setting a fixed limit to the size of the ACUK and Dropbears, which made me have to wait so long for a spot on the Dropbears that I gave up waiting. And no one set up any process for bumping a Field Marshal to the top of the list.
But yes, the old WA debate. When that was happening, I was still loyally serving the eUSA. At that time I was recognized as the expert on eAustralia. Everyone else thought you were a puppet of PEACE, but not me. HadrianX offered me his ambassadorship to eAustralia. And I had to refuse because I balanced the demands of the eUSA with the needs of eAustralia, and found I couldn't ask you to do any of it in good conscience.
Ultimately, whatever you tried to regain WA at that time was hopeless. Negotiation was doomed to failure because the Indos would never willingly give up WA. The eUSA would have told you to take it by force. And that to would have been a mistake what with WW3 looming on the horizon. Though it seemed like it was pissing itself, Australia probabily did the smartest thing by cowering to eIndonesia at that time rather than try to fight for what's theirs. Though we'll never know for sure now.
Welcome to Malaysia!
eAus didnt cower - nor did I. This is why I came here - you appreciate democracy.
The Aus people, not their elected representatives, needed a say.
Anyway, I will remain silent from here. PLEASE, get to know me.
🙂
