My dearest admins,

What were you thinking? I mean, seriously, WHAT WERE YOU THINKING???!!!

This game has completely lost its way. There are no rules anymore. It´s not a matter of being unable to control multis, it´s not a matter of making unpopular changes trying to improve the eRepublik experience. It´s a matter that the actual God of this game, a supposedly neutral god, has decided to actively intervene on this game, not to undo unethical practices, not to ban unethical players, but to change the economic rules that have taken their way independently at their will, by injecting thousand, hundreds of thousands of currency in the market, and therefore devaluating most of the currencies.
Personally, I have only invested very little of my RL money. One reason is that I don´t have any, but mainly because as a game, I wanted to actually WIN this money by my own efforts, and not by my VISA / MASTERCARD, and most of the people I know in this game feels the same way about it. However, I´m guessing there are hundreds of people around the eworld who have invested their own RL money, which they have obtained with their own RL hands, on a game where there are strict rules, where there are admins which control the game so no one can steal this money from you, where there are admins that are supposed to guarantee that these rules are followed by everyone. And all of a sudden, without no warning, no customer-opinion, no customer-PERMISSION, these admins change all of their rules, and take away all your effort, take away all your trust in them. Imagine that some of them invested their RL money-bought-Gold on eR currencies, and that in a few hours, it´s worth half of this value. How would you feel about it?
Imagine that you knew there´s a god, and imagine that you trusted him. And then imagine that one day, he comes while you´re sleeping, or watching a movie, and he changes his own rules, and not only he takes away all of your effort, but your trust in him. Would you want to keep living in this world after this? I know I wouldn´t. However, I would also know that I would still want to make an effort, not because I trust this god, but because I trust and care about the people that live in this world, and it´s still worth living in it, just because of them.
So instead of commiting suicide, which is as coward as it would be in RL, I decided to keep trying, to keep having fun, and to keep being let down by this god. After all this time, I kind of got used to it.
Maybe, as a conclusion, and also as an advice, I´ll say: if it works, don´t fix it. And I´ll also ad😛 If it works, don´t ruin it! Maybe you´ve heard this a lot of times, but it´s still valid, isn´t it? Sometime ago, you were on the right way, at least when I was eborn, I felt it. It´s never too late to get back to it.

PS: Dear godmin, I know you´ll read this. I haven´t insulted anyone, I haven´t discriminated anyone, and most certainly, I haven´t infringed any eRepublikan law, I just stated my point of view. That´s it. And I hope you´ll learn from it. Most probably you´ll delete this article, give me a couple of forfeit points, and keep doing what you do. However, I still keep my hopes high, and give it try.

Qué estaban pensando? En serio, QUÉ ESTABAN PENSANDO???!!!

Este juego ha perdido por completo su camino. No hay más reglas. No es una cuestión de ser incapaz de controlar multis, no es una cuestión de hacer cambios impopulares tratando de mejorar la experiencia de eRepublik. Es cuestión de que el dios real de este juego, un dios supuestamente neutral, ha decidido intervenir activamente en este juego, no para corregir las prácticas poco éticas, no para prohibir los jugadores poco éticos, sino para cambiar a su voluntad las reglas económicas que han seguido su camino de forma independiente, mediante la inyección de miles, cientos de miles de moneda en el mercado, y por lo tanto la devaluación de la mayoría de las monedas.
Personalmente, sólo he invertido muy poco de mi dinero RL. Una de las razones es que no tengo mucho, pero sobre todo porque, como un juego, yo quería ganar realmente por mis propios esfuerzos, y no por mi VISA / MASTERCARD, y la mayoría de la gente que conozco en este juego se siente igual al respecto. Sin embargo, supongo que hay cientos de personas en todo el emundo que han invertido su propio dinero RL, que han obtenido con sus propias manos RL, en un juego donde hay normas estrictas, donde hay administradores que controlan el juego para nadie puede robar el dinero de nadie, donde hay administradores que se supone que garanticen que estas normas son seguidas por todos. Y de repente, sin ninguna advertencia, ninguna opinión del cliente, ningún PERMISO del cliente, estos administradores cambian todas sus reglas, y te quitan todo tu esfuerzo, junto con toda tu confianza en ellos. Imagínate que algunos de ellos invirtieron sus Golds comprados con dinero RL en monedas ER, y que en pocas horas, valen la mitad. ¿Cómo te sentirías al respecto?
Imaginate que sabés que hay un dios, e imaginate que confiabas en él. Y después imaginate que un día, él viene, mientras estás durmiendo, o viendo una película, y cambia sus propias reglas, y no sólo te quita todo tu esfuerzo, sino tu confianza en él. ¿Te gustaría seguir viviendo en este mundo después de esto? Sé que yo no lo haría. Sin embargo, también sé que todavía haría un esfuerzo, no porque confíe en este dios, sino porque confío y me intereso por la gente que vive en este mundo, y todavía vale la pena vivir en el, sólo por ellos.
Así que en lugar de suicidarme, que es tan cobarde como lo sería en la vida real, decidí seguir intentando, seguir divirtiéndome, seguir siendo defraudado por este dios. Después de todo este tiempo, uno se termina acostumbrando.
Tal vez, a modo de conclusión, y también como un consejo, les puedo decir: “si funciona, no lo arregles”. Y también voy a añadir: “Si funciona, no lo arruines!” Tal vez lo hayan escuchado muchas veces, pero sigue siendo válido, ¿no? Hace algún tiempo estaban en el camino correcto, al menos cuando recién había enacido, lo sentía. Nunca es demasiado tarde para volver a ese camino.
