Hello Canada!
wingfield
First of all, thank you all, collectively, for giving me a new home. No matter what people may be saying in eCanadian domestic politics, I am one of those huddled masses yearning to breathe free!
You see, eRepublik caters for the best and worst among us. Throughout the New World, there are many wonderful people, with whom playing this game is sheer delight. Then there are others who cynically exploit the game to maintain their fantasies and power trips. They will seize control of a country and lock it down so tight that no one outside the inner circle can ever have a chance at making a difference. Such is the eUnited States these days.
Many of your new citizens came seeking tax relief. When those in power rob us of the means and rewards of normal business, that is a natural reaction, especially when the theft is directed towards private benefit. The urge to move gets stronger when any resistance to the tax theft draws nothing but hate and greater repression from the ruling clique and their fellow travellers.
What is even worse is that ANY political opposition in the eUS is ruthlessly crushed by those who lie, steal and cheat, while at the same time treating their victims as inferiors. One relatively unpopular minority group is denied any political influence, despite having a core level of support. The authorities use the very methods that they attribute to this minority to cheat it AND ordinary Americans out of political influence.
So, many of us are refugees for reasons greater than just the need to pay less tax. We want a free political life and a say in how we are governed. We are not interested in internal eCanadian debates about the motives for our arrival or any individual issues between parties or leading citizens. We just want to be free!
I have been an eCanadian citizen in the past, spending a month here in 2010. At that time I belonged to the CPF and I have rejoined that party. However, my concerns are not with internal bickering or non-strategic issues. I am interested in the rights of soldiers and citizens and the preservation of the economy and democracy. That is enough to occupy me without getting caught in other disputes.
I look forward to working with you all and fighting alongside you.

Breathing free air at last!
I moved to eCanada for smiliar reasons. I would have thought that taxation without representation would have been fundernental for eUSA. I did not enjoy eUSA committing suicide.
"One relatively unpopular minority group is denied any political influence, despite having a core level of support."
Oh? Please tell me more. I hear scattered reports from time to time about northamerican oppressive ruling class but nothing concrete.
I enjoy having visitors discussing and trading ideas for the betterment of both countries, but if you want a say in the way you're governed wouldn't it be better to fight against the native oppressor rather than going to another «supposedly» liberal country?
Don't get me wrong, but you can't blame us for being wary of a sudden migrant influx. Canada is a relatively small country and can be considered a target for less reputable people.
How would you have reacted if our roles were inverted?
I would welcome you.
However, the brutal regime in the eUS is just too strong now.
btw, I am not a RL American.
then why have you chosen eCanada? for the language?
I could say that I already explained myself on the citizenship request. Do you want an experienced non-American player or not?
It's not about what I want. It's about what you need versus what you'll get. eCanada recently recovered its regions so we're kind of in a short-fuse situation.
Expressing your intention of interfering with local politics might get you misunderstood.
As for me, as I said, I enjoy the exchange of ideas and experiences.

You will always get that from me. However, I thought that I said I did not want to get involved with local political stoushes. I have seen worse places to be, with smaller English speaking countries forever prone to PTO and/or domestic political tyranny.
Cheers!
Welcome.
Welcome!
Welcome!
Taxes cost me 84 dollars a day to work in my own factories in e-usa. I personally cannot sustain it and the alternate option I was given was to not work in them to save money (while I was in the air force and getting supplied every 3 days and paid a buck a day for working). That makes no sense to me. Now they would be getting no taxes instead of reasonable taxes. Plus, I like building my own Q7 tanks and Q5 food to not only supply myself but make a few bucks. I hope I am accepted for citizenship because if not I will have to find someplace else.
Welcome to Canada.
It's scary how you could substitute the word USA with Canada and be describing recent events fairly accurately (minus the taxes). However, hopefully your experience here will be a more positive one.
welcome
