Health and Economics.

Day 1,135, 09:04 Published in Canada Canada by Donna Rush

After almost a year-and-a-half in eRep, I finally decided to take the plunge and buy a company. This isn’t an ad, I won’t mention the name.

This is mainly directed towards newer players, so bear with me. It’s just simple economics.

The company produces food, from raw materials. It takes 6 units of grain to make 1 unit of food. 1 unit of grain costs 0.10, so a unit of food costs 0.60, plus labour costs.

Now for your part;
For example, you make $14.00 for each day’s work at whatever level.
With a low level of health, your productivity is 200, which equals roughly 33 units of food. So, the labour costs are approximately 0.42 per unit of food. ($14.00 divided by 33 units).
Added to the raw material costs of 0.60, that means that the company must sell it’s products for $1.02, to break even. Other companies are selling their food for 0.80 to 0.85 per unit. How long do you think you will keep your job?
If you health is much higher, your productivity will be 350, which equals roughly 58 units of food. The labour costs will be about 0.24 per unit. The company can break even at a price of 0.84. This is competitive, and will result in you having a job and making money.
(Most number are approximate).

While maintaining health and working is not as exciting and interesting as fighting, if it definitely more interesting than not having a job and dying off.. You will help your country much more by being healthy than by dying off or losing interest because you can’t improve your position. In a short period of time, you will increase your ranking enough to make fighting worthwhile.
