Hi all. I never really planned on being one of those people to come and beg for your help. In the four months I spent with you all we saw TONS of articles asking for help in stopping political take overs in far-off countries. I need you to understand that this one is different. I realize people like Br0adside (miss you bud 🙂
) will say we can't spare people, but truth is, we can.
Down to the meat of the matter. China is being politically taken over by both Iran and Indonesia. Both the Freedome party and the SoM party have moved into China within the past 3-4 days in an attempt to take over our congress (which in essence is working like a charm).
How it happened.
If you will see, China has grown from 2 regions and 20 Congressmen to 5 regions and 40 Congressmen in this past month. Such expansion has not been paired with either increased activity or increased population. We have been maintaining a steady "1 new citizen per day" for a while now. Recently we were "given" both Beijing and Ningxia about 2 days before the election. This was done without notification of our government and our people, which leads me to believe that this move was done not only for training of the Iranian troops, but also to increase the size of our Congress and allow their "party"--the "Freedome" party--to get more votes. Now, I wouldn't have as much of a problem if these people had introduced themselves, registered on our forums, been on our IRC, or even, per chance, stated a plank? But we have seen an influx of 30-45 candidates who have done nothing in China, but register for Congress elections. It is a blatant TO on a very innocent country.
Why it matters.
If you haven't read this article, then you should. There are people in China who care just as much about their country as you do about eAustralia. They have worked so hard to overcome so much more strife than we have had to, but now they are threatened. If my emotional appeal won't work for you then maybe this will. If China is TOed, the world will reach a new level of instability. Right now China is the crossroads of the Indo-Romanian war. Should China be taken over, our neutral country, will be prostituted for MPPs with PEACE nations to reinstate this war. Simple as that. China is just being used as a tool.
I know this all doesn't phase most of you at all, but if you haven't voted today, please, please, please, contact me and I will get you a MT to come to China and vote. It means a lot to us.
I don't know what else to say to you, but help...

No i wouldnt have said that Haugen 😉 ive actually been checking up on China l8ly and they really do look hard done by especially with the war going on around them. best of luck m8, and i do suggest that ne independant aussies looking for a little trip to eChina should have a crack at it and save a inspiring population. ill also chuck in Moving Tickets if thats the case that you wish to go.
Thanks for the help, hopefully SOM and Freedome will be kept out of COngress, since they have failed to do anything that shows they mean to help.

eChina is in a very similar situation to eRussia. We also worked hard to free ourselves. Whilst in government the Communist Party-Soviet Union deliberately limited the nation to only the two highest resource regions to avoid the risk of political takeover, as you described.
We would have preferred to remain neutral, as you, but we knew that we could never hope to remain free if we didn't choose one of the major alliances. We chose ATLANTIS so we could secure peaceful independence from eNorway. ATLANTIS refused our membership and we were taken over by eRomania!
Neutrality cannot succeed in eRepublik, especially in our part of the eWorld. It is clear that the powerful eNations don't care about political reputations.
The only force capable of establishing lasting peace in the eWorld is the working class. Without the support of its workers, no state can invade and oppress other peoples.
Unfortunately, most people in this game are apathetic nationalist teenagers. So...whatever. Yay eRussia! WOOOO! eRussia is number one! Also eAustralia, but more so eRussia! YEAH!

I met a radical Commie once. He was so radical that he got himself friendly with members of a American operated laissez-faire Capitalistic movement based in Melbourne (names escape me). Anyway he had the wonderful scheme where he'd say the most ridiculous things (eg all Police should be privatised) so that people would think that he was a nut & lean towards Communism as a result.
It's a marvelous tactic. Picard, everybody knows you're a con.

Anyway with eChina. As the Chinese ain't even permitted onto this website then it's clear that the existng eChinese government PTO'd it. Mind you, China is a Communist country. Why don't all of the Communists go to eChina & run the eGovernment how they wish.

RL does not reflect what happens in eRepublik 😁 you should have realized that by now. It doesn't matter who runs what eCountry.
So, how did that finish, haugenmatt?
Well nothing drastic has happened as of yet. I think many of the foreign congressmen left after they got the gold, but we managed to empty our treasury into our national bank before they came, so we aren't too concerned.
