Happy Birthday to Me!

Day 897, 08:46 Published in USA USA by Chris Stanwick
5.5.2009 to 5.5.2010

Today marks one year of Chris Stanwick. I was born in Texas on Day 532, remaining there for the first few weeks before moving to Florida. scrabman was POTUS and Atlantis was on its way out. Ireland continuously attacked Rhode Island several times a week despite the fact that they could never win. Harrison Richardson was the Secretary of State and Emerick was banned from the eUS forums for past crimes.

It didn't take me long to figure out the game mechanics nor find the eUS forums. I used the former to my advantage and became the most active poster on the latter. I quickly joined the UIP, which was the 4th largest party at the time after the USWP, Libs, and Conservatives, and just above the AAP. Harrison Richardson gave me my first opportunity in national government by hiring me as the UnderSecretary of State for Developing Regions. I worked closely with FRAC and made a name for myself. It was enough to see me elected to Congress in June and appointed Deputy Secretary of State by HR when he became POTUS in July.

Then WWIII began and the peace we had known for so long shattered. I started NEEP, and donated thousands of moving tickets to thousands of US citizens to move out of occupied regions to our fortress states, which at the time included New Jersey and Kansas. By the time of my scandalous indiscretion, I was exhausted after weeks of constant donations - some days receiving over 400 PMs. I left the US in disgrace and settled briefly in Ireland before heading down under to Australia.

Australia proved to be a good spot for relaxation. I returned to Congress as the Senator for Tasmania and served a term as the MoFA before RL health problems forced my resignation not only from my political positions, but from eRep completely. Between November 2009 and February 2010, I was AWOL. Thankfully, a few old friends kept me alive by donating food regularly, thus I was able to return at the beginning of February and pick up where I left off in the US.

I joined the USWP, won Congress in February but lost in March, grew tired of the constant in-fighting in American politics, which continues to this day, and decided to depart again. Now, I'm in Thailand, a small nation with few active citizens and a lot of PTOers. I'm able to use my experience and activity to assist the nation as a member of Congress, Minister of Social Services, and General of their Home Guard. Instead of eight to ten hours online, I can now get by with an hour or two a day.

That's it, a year in a flash. Thnk you to everyone who have made my first year fun and exciting, and here's to another nine years of eRep!
