Green Party Presidential Interviews-Reprint

Day 631, 07:39 Published in USA Belgium by Kylero
This article was originally published in Astra Kat G's Shining in the Darkness newspaper and has been reprinted here with permission.

As promised, here are the answers of the Party President candidates for the USA Green Party. Unfortunately, although I've seen vijayaditya around, training and gaining experience on the battlefield, he hasn't responded to either of my mails, so two out of three will have to be good enough. On the bright side, this should make voting for Party President easier!

Kylero

Kylero: Thank you for the interview, Kat!

Kat G: And thanks for taking time out of your schedule to type to me! I really appreciate it.

Question 1: First off, please describe yourself to our voters, so that they can get to know you a little better.

Kylero: Well, I've been active on eRepublik for about a month now, and have had a great interest for the political aspect of this game. In RL, I have worked on Ralph Nader's 2008 Presidential Campaign, hence my avatar. I enjoy a nice glass of scotch. I love lamp! I'm a pretty cool cat, with a great sense of humor.

Kat G: That lamp doesn't love you, Kyle!

Question 2: Which qualities do you hope to bring to the party as its President?
Kylero: Some of the qualities I hope to bring to the party is drive. I am very motivated to helping this party thrive. I am very analytical and have a knack for political skills.

Kat G: Ooh, I see what you did there, rhyming "drive" with "thrive," you sly, poetically-talented dog, you.

Question 3: What plans do you have for USA Green Party, if elected its President?

Kylero: Some of my plans for the Green Party have already been accomplished. I have taken the initiative over the past couple weeks to not only create a newspaper that is almost entirely focused on Green Party issues, I have created an organization for the party, GreenPAC, and I have completed and administrate the new Party website and forums. With no elected leader of the party, I took it upon myself to see that this party doesn't flounder, but instead grow. I think the fact that this interview is taken place has a lot to do with my dedication to the party and ensuring its members are looked after and appreciated. Also, this interview and article bodes well for the future of the Green Party.

Kat G: There's a word I don't hear often enough: bodes. Love that word! Just to clarify for Green Party newbies (or those thinking of joining), our last leader, Flogan, went inactive then quit. rastamen is Party President right now simply by default.

Question 4: Why should undecided citizens choose the USA Green Party?

Kylero: I think that undecided citizens should choose the Green Party because it is shaping up to be a very organized political machine. With my leadership, members will feel part of something special. Ask any new member in the past couple weeks, if I haven't only said thank you for joining the Party, I may have also helped them financially, and quite possibly been a mentor to them. Members won't be merely a number, but intrical members of a well-structured Party.

Kat G: I think you mean "integral" members, Kyle. I can call you Kyle, can't I, Kyle? Right, Kyle? That's all right, Kyle? Oops, a little late to ask now.

Question 5: Last, but not least, any parting words?

Kylero: I would just like to say thanks to you, Kat, for using your fabulous newspaper for this purpose. I thought there may be a conflict of interest if I were to do the same thing on my paper. I've been saying it over and over again in my paper, but for anyone who wants to get a jumpstart in the political arena, or if you've left the party due to inactivity and lack of direction, "baby come back"! Thank you!

Kat G: *sings* Baby come back! You can blame it all on me... *normal voice* Oh, sorry, were you saying something serious? I'm easily distracted by musical interludes. You've got my permission to repost this in your newspaper (the primary, official newspaper of USA Green Party). Thanks again for the interview!

rastamen

rastamen: I will not answer the questions one by one if you allow that to me. I will try to answer your questions in a text.

Kat G: Oh, really? All righty then, go for it, you daredevil, you! No, wait--I'll just chop your text up into smaller, easily digestible bites anyway, separated by obnoxiously bold queries like...

Question 1: First off, please describe yourself to our voters, so that they can get to know you a little better.

rastamen: I'm a libertarian. What does this mean? This mean that I appeal for the liberty of thinking and the liberty of living. I think nobody must be a prisoner of no one or any organisation.

Kat G: Down with the prisoners! Word to the living!

Question 2: Which qualities do you hope to bring to the party as its President?

rastamen: And these are my qualities too.

Kat G: Being a libertarian, pro-liberty, and anti-imprisonment. Got it. I can board that love train with a clear conscience, oh yeah.

Question 3: What plans do you have for USA Green Party, if elected its President?

rastamen: I hope the best for USA GREENS but I'm not a god and the maximum I can promise is to do the best in every situation. And if I'm elected I will try to get more citizens to our party because I know very people and those people know more people and soo we can gain more members that can help us reaching the status of major party. That is my prime objective.

Kat G: *sings* People all over the world, join hands, start a love train, a love train... *normal voice* Ahem, I mean, sounds good! What, I'm allowed a little musical interpretation of a candidate's response, aren't I?

Question 4: Why should undecided citizens choose the USA Green Party?

rastamen: I think that can't exist "undecided" citizens because every people know what they wan't. If someone is like me and wan't the liberty, the peace and the happiness soo he can choose our party!

Kat G: I know I sure want the liberty, the peace and the happiness. 🙂

Question 5: Last, but not least, any parting words?
rastamen: I hope you're satisfied with my answers and thanks!

Kat G: And thank you, rastamen! There's a satisfaction joke in there, somewhere, but I'm not going to make it, not while Kyle is being a mentor to those young, female interns over at the USA Green Party offices. No, that would be in poor taste.

vijayaditya

And because our third candidate, vijayaditya, never got back to me, that's it for the USA Green Party Presidential Candidate Interviews! Thanks for reading!

You're Awesome Puppy wants you to join USGP (United States Green Party)!

Both candidates have also posted their responses on the official USA Green Party website: http://www.eusa-greens.spruz.com/forums/?page=t&fid=6A11A790-BF30-43EB-90F4-E196E5EDFCA3

Fun Fact: Party Presidential elections are on August 15th! Enjoy! ...wait, that's not a fun fact! I feel gypped. Here's one: No word in the English language rhymes with month, orange, silver, or purple. So my English-language poem about the one-eyed, one-horned, flying silver and purple people-eater who only comes out once a month and primarily consumes people based on their choice of orange wardrobe is pretty much screwed.

Fun Fact Strikes Back: Here are the (un)official theme songs for each of the candidates for their August 2009 political campaigns, as picked by Astra Kat G. Enjoy!

Kylero: Player, "Baby Come Back" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hn-enjcgV1o
rastamen: The O'Jays, "Love Train" : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7MiG2fe8lE
vijayaditya: Bee Gees, "Stayin' Alive" (cos it's an awesome 70s song and I wanted to include it... and because this is likely the only thing the ever-silent vijayaditya would do during his term) : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IHWeuQyFouo
So why are all the songs '70s songs? Besides the fact that music in the '70s was just that great? It's probably because the dawn of environmental awareness, Earth Day, was back in 1970. You rock, Earth (eEarth and beyond)!
