Greeks, our unnecessary adversary

Day 1,594, 03:02 Published in Egypt Egypt by Franz Kafka

Whilst I am still outside of the Egyptian government, I will take this opportunity to give you my perspective on recent state of relations with the Greek government.

I have personally seen recent governments strive for a negotiated peace with Greece, and a return to independence for some regions of eEgypt. In recent weeks that had gathered momentum, with supporters from within the citizenry of Israel, Brazil and elsewhere also supporting a negotiated deal.

Frankly, what has been on the table for Greece, is nothing short of perfect for them: No loss of key resource regions, no cutting of connection to resource areas, A promise of a NAP - so that the eEgyptian government does not use its MPPs to make an attack on Greece, and even the promise of deposits of gold to guarantee such a deal.

eGreece government has refused all overtures, and worse still such refusals take an insulting tone that presume that the citizens of eEgypt are not genuine. Bizarrely, eGreece has agonised about our pro-ONE stance, and yet continues to box us in a corner where the only friends we have are in ONE? A bizarre strategy if ever I saw one!

Sadly the time for such deals with eGreece may well have passed. We now have only the Machiavellian alternatives, and so it is with a heavy heart that we sacrifice considerable gold to fight RWs in the hope of liberating a region or two whilst Greece is busy with adventures in Bulgaria and elsewhere.

In the next few weeks, eEgypt will have some independent regions, and those that help us to achieve that liberation will be able to count on eEgyptian loyalty and support. But in the midst of what happens next, spare a thought for those unhappy allies of eGreece, that have tried their best to champion reason over petty pride and arrogance. Their loyalty to eGreece is honour bound through their membership of EDEN, but their hearts are not in this occupation, and we should recognise this.

We shall be free!
