I'd like to take a break from all the politics here to share the passing of somebody truly great.
This is Mozart. He was the Koolest of Kats, the Best of Cats, and most importantly he was my little buddy. I had him since I was a little kid and it was the hardest thing to put him to rest today. I was the last one who would have wanted to do it, but I could see it in him. Spending almost the last 48 hours with him, he continuously got worse, barely being able to sit on his feet, shaking incredibly before he had to lie back down.
From all the little hiding spots we'd find him in to the hide and seek. And from the biting of toes under sheets and constant need for attention. He was more than a cat to me, he was my best friend and I know you're in a better place now.

I'm about to put a dog I've had for nearly 12 years down Monday. He's got cancer. My deepest sympathies and condolences.

I have had to make decisions like this for people and for pets...pets are worse. In the case of people, they have previously given at least some direction. It is an informed thing.
For pets it is a very solitary decision.
