Goodbye, dear friends

Day 1,103, 11:19 Published in USA USA by Harrison Richardson

I've more or less quit for a few months. I didn't want to create a big bruhaha about it mainly because I didn't feel like getting the attention.

To begin with, some housekeeping:

PigInZen has been appointed Chief Executive of PENIX Inc. He will run all corporate entities
Erepublik Betting Service is (still) undergoing massive coding changes. If you want a refund, go to erepbetting.com and follow the instructions. We will be happy to oblige.

Now, to get to the meat of the article:

For too long, Erepublik has been stagnant. In the United States, we are stuck in our ways and no one seems to know how to get us out of it. We fall into a groupthink ideology where whatever tax system or military support system we have is the best and nothing can be better. It can always be better.

Throughout my two plus years on this game, I've amassed quite a personal fortune. Starting today, I am taking the steps to reduce that fortune and make sure I can finally quit this game. I am announcing the creation of the One Eye awards.

The 1i's are similar to the real life Nobel awards. Every other month, a group of 5 on the Board of Directors with a non-voting Chairman shall select award recipients in the fields of Economic Research and Innovation. In the event of a tie, the Chairman shall break the vote. The Chairman will select all Board members. Pfeiffer will serve as the Chairman.

With that money I have left, today I transferred 1,000 gold in to a trust that can only be accessed by myself and AidenAstrup, the CEO of t'jelle. Every two months, I shall instruct Aiden to transfer 110 gold to the Chairman of the Board who will then disperse it to the two award winners.

It is my goal that this will spur research on our economic theory as well as innovation in different fields. It is my hope that this small incentive will push people to make the tools that change this game for the better and make it as enjoyable as it has been for me the last two years.

As for me? Well, as I believe Frost once said,

"Off with a girl". Don't ever let the game take over your life. Enjoy it, but don't let it become you.

For the last time,
HR
