Gold Theft in Canada! AB Blows The Whistle On You!
Augustus Baldwin
This article has been picked up by Spanish-language eMundo al Dia, see it here
I am offically calling for an investigation into the activities of a former member of the Jacobi regime. I have recently recieved reports from a member of Jacobi's cabinet that the following activities have taken place behind closed doors:
Former Jacobi Minister of Finance Dean22 has broken the Ministry of Finance Control Act and the Consitution of Canada.
He has removed gold from the Ministry of Finance without authorization and sent it to Banach (who is in no way complicit in this).
Dean22 has claimed that this was a loan, yet the government cannot find the corresponding legal contracts. (I have a screenshot where Dean admits taking the gold in the government Gold/CAD Transfer Log).
Dean22 was not supposed to have access to the Government Organization which he removed the gold from.
The government is aware of these actions and has all the neccessary evidence regarding what I am refering to. I was simply asked to bring this to the attention of the public to ensure appropriate actions were taken, and that there was not a cover up. And based on who the suspected culprit was, how could I refuse?
This is unacceptable frivolity during a time of war. Why are our national OA's so insecure? Look what happened with theft in Spain and Russia! Does the government even know who has access to them? I trust we should have an announcement soon from Jacobi with more details on what has transpired. If the government does not release further details and keep the public updated on the progress of the investigation then I shall do it for them.
That is all.
Your friendly neighborhood Augustus Baldwin-man
****Note****
My cabinet source says:
1) There was no neccessary eRepublik contract for this loan. Meaning one made BEFORE I posted this article.
2) This loan is in contradiction to the procedures laid out in Ministry of Finance Control Act and the Consitution of Canada.
3) The transaction was not authorized/he shouldn't have had access to that organization.
If Dean22 can prove my source is wrong on all 3 of these points then I shall withdraw my demand for an investigation.

Red Card! wait this isn't football 😞
Gold was loaned by a government sanctioned contract which, is being paid back in a small amount of time. In fact, these type of loans were approved by congress.
Another Augustus Baldwin attempt at undermining Canada's war effort 😛.
Epic Fail AB...Epic Fail Indeed
*wants to see some proof from either side*
Oh and P.S. I am still MoF great job at knowing your stuff AB,
Really.
If what Dean22 is saying is true.. then he should have no problem producing the evidence. A thread is open in congress discussion...Please post the evidence there....and could you guys at least wait till we have all of canada back before you guys start trying to get court cases against each other. 😛
No Dean, those loans, are for Company Startups, and export licenses, not resistance wars, its in the legislation, also Dean22, Jacobi informed Chamrajnagar he is the new MoF on Thursday. you made the transfer on Saturday. Also, where is the Contract? I looked back 3 days in the Contracts area, and no Contracts from you, or from the Canadian Ministry of Finance, or the Ministry of Finance, or Revenue Canada, to Banach, or the Canadian Resistance Movement are to be found.
You as MoF (If you are MoF now) can move money between Government Orgs without sanction, not to Private Orgs or Citizens like Banach. The legislation that was passed to provide loans from a pool of 400 gold, did not include resistance wars, or to start companies in Romania, I know, I voted on it. Also, that program was put on hold by the President less than 24 hours after it began, and there has been no written declaration by President Jacobi that the program is once again in operation.

Dean read my added ***Note*** part. If you can provide those 3 things I will apologize to you.
pwned
lol @ No Idea.
1) I'll show you in the morning but for now I am going to bed.
2) Loan complies with Ministry of Finance Control Act and the Constitution of Canada. You should read it again. I am not trying to make you feel stupid here but sometimes reading things and then thinking and then typing is smarter.
3) If you have a cabinet source why don't you ask him to look at the master Cabinet list? 😉
Either way this article is genius in it's stupidity.
Oh jeez here we go again. 😛
Master cabinet list is terribly outdated, though Ive been trying to figure out who is the real MoF for 2 days now and the only conclusion Ive come to is that both of you are 😒 (at best I can say that Cham is a deputy, but I really don't know anymore 😛 )
the Master Cabinet list, is out of date, and has been for some time Dean22. Also, I did read both acts, just earlier this evening in fact, as a great deal of discussion has already occurred regarding this loan. Try reading section 1, part 7, the security of government assets. You just sent Government gold, to a private citizen without any form of in-game contractual protection.

*groan*
One second the resistance movements complain the government isn't talking to them, the next it seems the government is secretly financing the resistance. People need to get their stories straight.
Mind you, I don't pretend to know much about recent Canadian history, but why are you narking out a guy trying to fund another guy seeking to liberate your country?
Now thats what I call a sticky situation.
The only authorization that Dean had with the remaining money in CMOF was for "economic warfare"
I have not had an opportunity to talk to dean yet. I will update when I do.
Oh here we go again, why make this public?
Because I was asked to Tamas. AB can say whatever he wants and no one can stop him, if my source blew the whistle then he would be fired as a Minister and be out of government.
I have no idea what happened or did not happen with any loans, what I do know is that we got BC back. Given the choice between having the gold sitting in some account or having BC back I choose having the liberation of BC.
ecanada is slowly coming back and we do not waste any time going for each others throats once again, little has changed or been learned from pre-war ecanada.
@Jake: Unfortunately we don't have a similar opinion on using ongoing RW's as a cover to rob the Bank of Canada.
This isn't Kelly's Heroes and your not Donald Sutherland
'Mind you, I don't pretend to know much about recent Canadian history, but why are you narking out a guy trying to fund another guy seeking to liberate your country?'
Cmon AB...stop being a panzy.
As for Dean22, I wasn't aware that this loan will be from the gov't. I was assuming it was a personal loan. I didn't know he was a minister lmfao.
Whatever, the gold will be payed back.
As much as Dean is usually a douchebag, and so is AB, I advise this matter to be swept aside. The gold will be returned, and Dean did it in the best interest of Canada...so. Mitigating factors right there.
You guys need to quit bitching like panzies and get more provinces for Canada.
Res Comm Banach
CRM
First, i'm neutral for this matter
But at the time we need to stand together for the liberation, I don't think it's an good time to criticize Gov'ts action, especially Dean used the fund to do resistence war.
Can we leave this topic, and come back after the situation is more stable?
This sort of reminds me of the time that Alexander guy gave loans to companies who never paid him back :/
At least this money went somewhere useful, if illegal (woot Banach!)
Now this is entertainment.
"was simply asked to bring this to the attention of the public"
by whom?
Because its Canadian tax dollars. The money went to a good cause but didn't go legally.
Isn't this guy a spy who tried to reveal Canada's government secrets?
LOL, everyone has commented on this pieve of info.
Well, dean may have been wrong, but he did "unite the Clans" LOL, except for the CAF that came at the last minute
Why is it necessary in the first place for Dean, or anyone for that matter, to "steal" gold in order to liberate Canadian regions? If he could receive gold through the proper channels then why wouldn't he?
LOL looks like Dean pulled a Rearden!
(legally questionable but justifiable and frowned upon by the public at large)
If anything this kind of thing proves that we need a change in government and a change in regiem......
Many of the high ranking older eRepublik members are getting a little to high on themselves and are not following the rules.
lol@ Alexander Rearden
Except a Rearden involves Canada not getting it's money back where in this case it did.
This is undeniable proof that eCanada is back in business. See, they can take our territories, ruin our defense systems and hospitals, tank our businesses, but they can't kill the community that is eCanada. We've gone through hell and come out the other side a couple territories thinner, but otherwise looking much the same. Great sleuth work AB and even better work at getting back BC, Dean22.
I think the problem we have is leaving public opinion being the arbiter in whether any giving loan is good or bad. We probably wouldn't have frowned at Rearden had it not been for the Kommie's moronic move; likewise we might have been quite (more?) upset with Dean22 had BC been lost.
The reason why rules are in place is so that the action and not the aim is judged. Yes, liberating BC is worthwhile, but there are procedures in place and if Dean doesn't face the consequences for this action then the law becomes useless; there will be no legal basis for prosecuting someone who loans out money for something the public doesn't deem worthy in the future.
It's not up to us by the Supreme Court (and Congress?) to decide an appropriate punishment. While I'm sure AB thinks he should be stripped of citizenship, the mitigating factors, although not entitling him to break the law, should lesson his punishment. I think an official Congress censure and the stripping of his Ministry (if not already done) would be punishment enough... if he is found to have broken the law.
Dean22 mus face JUDGEMENT BEFORE HIS PEERS
Is anyone reading this getting royalties from a movie? You know what I mean, don't you? eCanada needs a Jay & Silent Bob moment, several of them actually... This is really lame, there's no accountability.

I think it is highly significant that 21 hours after it was promised the mystery contract that was claimed to exist has not yet been presented to the public.
It would help if you registered on the forums.
Better public than never revealed!
The question is 'who knew what, and when did they know it?'
What I know:
- AB hates Dean22
- There was a thread going on this subject in the eCanada forums, before AB posted his 'revealing' dramatic expose with help of 'secret Canadian sources'.
- AB hates Dean22
- AB (Augustus Baldwin) founded Cobra, a self-described terrorist organization that posted eCanadian military and financial secrets on the internet, and offered to (and probably did) sell them to the highest bidder, regardless of whether that would be Hungary, France or PEACE.
- AB hates Dean22
- Cobra (and A😎 disclosed secret Democratic Action League information to all of the other political parties in eCanada.
- AB hates Dean22
Does anyone see a pattern here?
Citizen B
If I understand this correctly, from skimming the article and comments...
Dean used tax $$ to loan to Banach?
AB hates Dean?
Banach used those tax $$ to liberate BC?
AB hates Dean?
Using tax $$ to loan to citizens for purpose of liberating our land without a contract is in contravention of our constitution and other legislation?
AB hates Dean?
AB is not Alberta (lol)
Fact: As a tax paying eCanadienne, and a real tax payer in real life Canada, I think that this was one of the best uses of eTax $$.
Whether the money is paid back or not(I don't care if it is), it was money well spent. If it had not been for the liberation of BC and Alberta, I would not have come back to eCanada. I was actually on the verge of becoming an eFrance citizen.
This is like getting mad at a firefighter for not wiping his boots when he came into your home to pull you from the fire. This mud slinging pisses me off. Especially coming from supposed citizens of eCanada.
What happened to that mentality of taking back eCanada, no matter the cost? I now know who I'd prefer to be in government if I were stuck in occupied territory.
BTW, whether it is the law or not, there are times when the law cannot foresee an event. Good job to Dean and Banach for liberating us, no matter the personal, financial or political sacrifice.
Shame on AB for diminishing what has been accomplished.
Hope I understood right 🙂
Somehow Dean22 freed BC. Suppose he used Canada's money to do so. Whats the problem?
The only problem I see is that he actually had to get the money this way. You'd think he should have been able to get it through official channels, seeing as how It was for military purposes.
Furthermore Dean took some items out of MoF. AB is right here, time to kick Dean's ass.
This is lame - let's stop bickering amongst ourselves here canucks and get our crap together - we have alot of work to do to get Canada back up and running.
True Story:
20 GOLD was loaned to Banach while I was Minister of Finance. The next day I resigned the position to Chamrajnagar.
The gold is being repaid in a very short time. (OMG that means no money was lost)
I used and stored over 80 guns for the battle of British Columbia and used CMOF to hold some of those guns for the last tiny bit of the battle in case I needed to tank at the last second.
Moral of the Story:
Gold I used fighting for British Columbia out of own pocket:
300 Gold
Gold Canada Lost:
0 Gold
Weapons I stored in CMOF:
9
AB hates Dean22 especially since AB is receiving his sentence soon as a criminal of Canada for crimes against Canada, it's laws, and it's people.
He's been on trial for about 3 months now in Supreme Court go look on the forums.
All hail those who bring light to truth
Death to those who seek to keep it in the shadows
What salty said, who knows what Dean has stolen that I haven't found out about.
If the government is constantly covering things up I think I best start looking harder at their activities.
