Gold Supply Tightens....

Day 949, 16:34 Published in USA USA by TaKunCat

I have seen an article or two on treasure map payouts and people are thinking there is a trend from having no TotK payouts to reduced payments of normal finds. Everyone can't help but see the advertisements for the Special Gold offer. (look here it is bound to be there) >>>>>>

While at first glance we might think that having cheaper gold for sale means more gold in the system... actually I doubt you think that because everyone talks about admins eliminating gold through the new ways to spend gold. That gold sale is a clear sign that they are trying to shift more control to gold buyers and away from free players.

Gold is eliminated very well by war. First concern of admins is to regulate war. This is done through the gold supply. When I first started there was no war available for probably a month and a half. I may be wrong but I think the war modual was active. I am just old enough to miss out of operation french toast. War went from being rare to common and near overdone because of changes in populations.

The admins upped the price of war to match the growth in population and the availability of Gold. But bigger still They introduced Lana. Upping the price of war is a fractional system. Where you could have 2 battle you could now have a fraction of the amount of battles in the same amount of time. Lana however has the ability to eat every piece of gold in this game 4 times over. This is a scary difference.

The first thing to go was war. As I said I do believe that the admins recognize this influence they have on our behavior and want to avoid boring people with absolutely no action. That said, would no war mean no action or fun in your eRep experience now? I believe the whole world to be occupied quite thoroughly with the game even without war.

Unlike the introduction of Lana We are not exactly staring into the abyss waiting to receive all our gold. We have found the market price of gold and people have made up their minds how to react to Lana. I believed treasure maps to be a way to counter Lana's syndrome of game death by peace and harmony.

When Lana first came out there was an immediate change in the monetary markets that settled down as people got used to it but there was a small steady move towards the gold all disappearing that slowly was felt everywhere. Markets for individual goods change regularly and dramatically at the drop of a hat in this game. I felt the market for wood drop off about a month ago. Wood is a bit counter cyclical because peace and harmony makes for a good excuse to get a house instead of buying weapons. The monetary markets are all shifting a bit even without government overselling. I can feel the gold dry up out there. If you want my opinions, we are being squeezed and I expect no relief until we do away with Beta.

Technically if you ever were going to buy gold now would be the time.
