Gloves and a Rag, anybody?

So, it seems that eCanada has spilled a glass of milk.
I would tend to agree. That we joined the Circle of Trust alliance at all (we were led to believe that we'd remain neutral for a period of time after having left the Asgard alliance, one which I prefer we'd have remained in), and that we did it with next to no public discussion, and then that we did it with a 10 person congress (we should have waited until we had a full 40 member congress to give it a better claim to validity), are both disappointing aspects of our recent trial membership in CoT. And it seems that many in our community feel this way.
Nevertheless, I don't believe the decision was a bad one. Just not my preferred one. I think this has the potential to work out well for our eNation.
But one thing we need to do, is to stop our crying! Shedding tears won't change anything. Screaming and ranting won't change anything. Whining is annoying. And if we were to pull out of our trial membership, it would do far more harm that good that could come of it. We would be seen as double minded and unstable. We would not be attractive allies - to ANYONE.
Let's count our lumps, and move on. Suck it up, and if you feel you need to punish those who lead us down this road (I don't), use the ballot box today and the one available in 10 days. If you feel the one available today isn't good enough because the good are mixed in with the bad, then the one on the 15th of October is the one you need to shoot for - or better yet, run yourself and prevent those responsible from being elected.
Of course, all the ranting and screaming and tears flowing makes for good entertainment. (Whining is just plain annoying anytime). But it does nothing to clean up the milk.
It can even be fun in groups!

Too much common sense in this article, spoils all the fun
Strength and honour
Asgard alliance would have been nice but lets face it, it needed a big country or two in it to survive. While it is nice to feel all comfy in there, it also has to serve a pupose in having the ability to defend itself. Too bad it didn't work out, and too bad erep screwed us by bringing in that work tax at the worst time possible. As you say, spilt milk.
As for the number of members in congress, well we have to deal with what we have, and I am sure there are those that may even say that until we have congress that fills every possible seat (Spain has 4 regions) that nothing is legit.
We can all claim that things are legit or illegitimate, but at the end of the day all that matters is the game mechanics that erep provides us. If people still need to cry about things, well cry at the erep people lol.
w..what are you doing you.. you THOUGHT PROVOCATEUR!
It is what happens when you vote based on what you think rather than just following party lines. Being objective is a 4 letter word in this country LOL.
Summed up like a champ!
JonathonEdwards speaks like a young prince among wizened whiners:
"Grown-ups never understand anything for themselves, and it is tiresome for children to be always and forever explaining things to them." (The Little Prince, ofc)
Yup, the process for CoT wasn't handled perfectly and the conditions (wonky + small Congress) were not right for it even if we aimed at due process. Remaining neutral for a little while and weighing the options made sense, too. Maybe Asgard was better. Maybe we should have continued to fight off Spain. There's probably a longer chain of maybes behind that stretch back to the beginnings of eCanada. What a burden it must be to remember all that and feel the need to carry it into all conversations and debates. Oh their poor aching backs...it gives good reason for the flowing tears.
Great article, voted.
Well I can guaruntee you there was no way we could continue to fight off spain with that crippling tax. We had to have congress just to get rid of it. Glad that everyone isnt screaming how illegitimate it is because it was voted on by a limited number of people in congress 😛 Now that the tax is done, sure, lets whack spain. Doesnt matter now that we have low taxes. Well except 40 people wouldnt be able to role play the political part.
Oh, I totally forgot about that Work Tax already and how we really did need to have a Congress and we really did need to rush the process on that one (without any griping, to boot!). My short-term memory appears to be quite challenged.
btw, why can't 40 people do what 10 did expertly?
Because 40>10 and 30 people didnt get to role play. Instead of waiting and see what happens they decided it was best that they take their toys out of the sandbox and go home 😛
Correction:
"they decided it was best that they take their toys out of the sandbox and apply for CS back home"
Those 10 were just pinch hitting until the real sluggers could added back to the roster. I guess we tried.
Corection noted LOL. If Canada gets wiped again lets see if our fairweather friends manage to stay home or fly the coop. I wonder if people noticed how well Canada functioned without them. A shame that the powers that were while they were away allowed them to waltz back in without breaking a sweat and take back control of something they had no right to anymore.
ha, I read that in French, Le Petit Prince, par Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
I just learned that Shenanigans is a French lit. book club. You should totally come join. Sal loves Balzac and I'm into Tintin.
